There are some technical exceptions to the general rule of 20 hours per week. You can check on the IRCC website to learn more about the exceptions. I am not sure if working online falls in the exception rules.

However I did join some student organizations while in high school and volunteered a lot. I also tutored some students (but I feel like it's not related to retail). Hi! From what I know, the minimum wage in Canada is around 15 CAD, and students are only allowed to work 20 hours in 1 week. That's 300 CAD in 1 week or 1,200 CAD in a month.

It’s generally not ok as this situation often leads to abuse of the worker and its not taxed. Unfortunately, I dont know much about taxes. Its best to seek this information from someone that knows!

The answer to your question really depends on your work experience and whether that work is available and in demand here. Also, another thing to consider is whether your work is considered a regulated profession in Canada. Certain jobs are regulated, like accounting, law, or medicine. So, you will need to be properly licensed and registered in order to work in those fields.

It felt lonely at first. But, eventually you will settle into life here. You will meet new people with similar interests. You will likely meet friends from school or colleagues from work. It just takes awhile. Either way, there are so many groups you can join for newcombers to this country. Its all about making effort to connect with people. I know many people don’t make the effort and complain that its lonely here in 😊

No it’s not required, I don’t even speak it 😅 but learning it as a second language can help you later on for connecting with more people, wider work opportunities and increasing points for Express Entry 💕👍
