I wish this video existed when me and my family decided to immigrate to Canada, we came here through an agency which actually did help us get the study and work permits but after we arrived in Canada they left us stranded. They told us that our only chance of getting PR was to switch provinces and that there was nothing they could do to help us unless we moved to another province after us being 2 and a half years in Ontario. Eventually we had to do everything ourselves and partly due to Covid we were able to get PR within 3 months. Don't trust any agency when it comes to immigration, do your own research, the government puts out very good information and is very clear on how to apply. Anybody can apply if they have some spare time to read the information.

I did a DIY application but was rejected. Then, I thought of seeking help from an immigration consultant but was so surprised that she would over my documents and start over again and that means I have to pay 100k pesos for my application. My only ground for refusal was "I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada...". Being overwhelmed of the cost considering the process that I need to go through again and the minority of my ground for refusal, I decided to do it again on my own, but with the guidance of the IDP Counselor (for.free) . And YES, my application was approved last December. As an applicant, you must know how your application is being done, and what could be your best moves to be approved.

Hi Rachel thanks for the informative video. Same case here because of willingness to go to Canada I simply filled out an assessment registration online to further assessed if I am qualified, so I got a call twice or thrice from that agency and forcing me to pay $399 as initial payment to proceed with my application and take note it’s only for evaluation fee. So I think wisely and refused their offer for the reason that we didn’t meet personally, don’t know where their office located at but they insist to pay using debit or credit oh it’s a big NO.

This is quite common they fail your application to obtain a refund they don't tell you about. These persons break up marriages and make the sponsors or IRCC the villain. P.E.N Immigration on Wilson Ave, in Toronto is one of them.

Very well said, I certainly agree👍 I myself have experienced these from an agency based in Phils who comes to UAE to conduct seminars. They never really help. I did my own research on finding the College, paper works and other things. After completing all requirements; they will say that documents are under review and when they come back to you they would ask you again for an updated documents. Wherein the delays was at their end and I missed my bio booking and defer my intake. Note that this agency would also say that they will help on POF? However, there’s a catch on that, so be careful guys. Better DIY. Due diligence is the key 🔑 Anyone could relate to this?

So far your vlog is giving me more information about Agencies and Consultant. Right now im working here in Dubai for 10years. Later on i decided to search a consultant here. There's a lot of sad stories of our Kababayans who paid a lot of money here but suddenly that Consultant or Agency is SCAMMER. Thats the reason why i have a trust issues for this Consultant and Agency here in UAE or in Philippines. My goal for now is to work in Canada soon. So right now after watching this video i have my trust issues again. Honestly i already started my application last month of October this year. I aready pay my first payment since its divided into 4 months as installment. Its not bigger than the other Consultancy here in Dubai. Since my agent explain to me regarding the processing of my application it really moves me to trust them to help me to get working visa or working permit. Base on her explaination it is clear and consistent so far. She explain step by step on how to process my documents thru there Consultant and the Lawyer/ representative in Canada. My question is, is it really not a good idea to process my application thru Consultant? Since you mention that they are not authorize to get applicant thru Consultant. Im really afraid right now since i already started my payment and application with them. As per my agent advice currently my application status is for ADVERTISEMENT. I dont know what is the exact process of all the applicant. This is my first time then i take risk since my dream is to work and to live in Canada SOON 🙏 After watching your video i have lot of emotions right now. I dont know how i feel. Its a mix of emotions and fears 🥺 Im still hoping that this Consultancy will still help me to get my Working Visa Permit Soon. Though i have doubt right now. I just dont know that this is ILLEGAL. It's true you can never trust any agencies. Although I had my application processed thru agency yet I am very hands on to my application. I researched a lot and did a thorough checking before I let them submit my application. Hi Kathleen, this video was able to reach you before signing up for a scam 😩 If the Visa Center had an authorized representative like lawyer or immigration consultant - and their license number is in the about us page or contact page - you can cross check if that information is found in the ICCRC or Law Society of Canada website to verify if they’re legit or not. My hunch is unlikely, but I could be wrong 😜

Yes, they can have a good rating and have helped x amount of people - but if they’re not authorized, they can’t charge you. They should have done it for you for free. But they cannot give you any legal advice.

I was about to seek assisstance from an agency called World Connect.. this video changed my mind. Now i feel like i have to learn more abot the immigration process first which might take time. But then again, id rather spend this time to gain knowledge that to gamble with investing with an agency.

I signed-up with an immigration consultant before because I was busy with work. Grabe mas naging stressful kasi sobrang bagal ng process. Kung hindi ako tatawag walang update akong makukuha instead na sila ang proactive na mag-update sa mga clients. To make the experience worse, refused pa ang application. .. Now DIY kami ng wife ko and we are doing the process at our own pace. Hopeful and praying for a better result.

Same. Where are you exactly right now? I mean which Contry are you working with? Im here Dubai and my application is started already last month. I paid a certain amount already. We have the same situation coz that money is my savings and it is my earned money for 10years. My agent told me that the process is 10months to 1 year. The status of my application is for Advertisement. She told me that she will update me time to time regarding my application. Base on my observation she explain it clearly and the info is very consistent so far. Well goodluck to both of us. Hope soon we will pursue our dream to live in Canada.

Hi rachel i have watched this video 3 times and pondered for a month and yeah i guess we did hasten our dreams too fast. I decided to stop my application even if we paid 50k pesos already to the agents. We just thought it was too good to be true. And so we actually are working to d.i.y. our way to another first world country. We couldnt be more satisfied with this decision as we are in control with our moves and the better chances we are in to an immigration opportunity.

So glad I found your channel and really appreciate the info you share. I've started reading up on immigrating to Canada and after my first call with the agency, it already had a cash grab feel to it. $15 for a eligibility test (that I could do for free online) and $500 dollars for assistance with which Visa is suitable for me. Glad to know that with a bit of research and reading, you can move forward without the need for an agency.

Several objections: 1. there is no requirement for an agent to be physically present in Canada. They just need to be a permanent resident or citizen, pass the test for immigration consultant and be listed as immigration consultant. And of course individual people needs to be in that registry as they are required to be licensed. However there is nowhere said that they are forbidden to have assistants (like receptionists and what not). And these people that are not giving their details on the application do not need to be in that list or anything else. 2. Nope applicants are not innocents at least not all of them. They can be blissfully ignorant (which would not help you with other laws like responsible for paying taxes and such) and think that immigration is way easier or maybe difficult. Or there can also be big ego overestimation (immigration is a competition where only 10% of people wanting to get it will manage to do it). When it comes to that immigration consultant may either just let them in collect the money put down their application and make sure to let them sign that they are responsible for the documents they provide and then more or less not care anymore about the outcome. They can warn client that chances to succeed are low and let them confirm if they want to proceed, but if the client insists? (Like when somebody does have poor English or French and they still want to apply to study on University, where it is rather certain that they will not be accepted and they still want to do it. Or if somebody does apply for university studies that are not at all consistent with his past education and better yet, they have applied left right center and been maybe rejected once or twice before. Those cases do ask for failure). 3. And then there is a bit specific group of clients for which such services should actually be for. People that either do not have time (too busy making money or something else) to deal with most of the issues; or that they do not really have skills with paperwork (they might be excellent at their profession, but are poor at dealing with paperwork). In both cases sure why not. 4. As for those that are not certified immigration consultants, nope they are suppose to know the basics there like the immigration law and regulations for immigration consultants. If they do not know it; it is their fault and they are wrong. It should be their profession.
