My favorite of the year. Truly a balls-to-the-wall adrenaline fueled thrill ride. It has the drama and heart I'm looking for, as well as insanely creative action sequences. The visuals and soundtrack are killer, I just love everything about it. I'm so glad I went out to the theater and saw it, everyone in the audience was cheering, it was awesome.

It's a tight slap to touch who thinks Indian movies are have no sense and are nothing but dance... And fellow Indian guys please stop calling tollywood, bollywood even the makers themselves hate this term it sounds like a made-up name trying to copy Hollywood ! Old people gave these terms because they still had that white people supremacy shit in their brains and wanted to be like them but now we're way above that and we have our own identity and we have realised that so just say that this a Telugu Indian movie not tollywood... Give your state it's due and say Indian movie now every creater end it with Indian Film industry so respect that !!

@@JustinDavidTalks Ram Charan is captivating on screen So is Tarak aka NTR jr. I love the dynamics between the two. As the movie progressed Bheem became harder and Raju was more soft hearted as was brilliantly showcased in the flogging scene. Very touching friendship. The jail break scene is my favorite with the hero like score, just magnificient.

I'm from the Telugu speaking states and I'm glad you enjoyed the Movie. I'll only say one thing , There are Amazing films from All Genres from all Film industries of India. It's not Only all Song & Dance as You have been FED by the Media . recommendations: 1) Baahubali 1 & 2 (Fantasy Epic, Telugu Film from RRR director ) 2) URI : The Surgical Strike (Military , Hindi Film based on True Events) . You Can Read if you want about the Terrorist Attack in Uri , India (2016) briefly to understand the gravity of the situation.

Excellent review - full of heart, Gentlemen. Looking forward to more from you for sure. You might find it interesting to note, most Indians put Bahubali, both 1 and 2, ahead of RRR as a movie they liked or loved. Bahubali is more on the tone and emotional story scale of Rajamouli, and we in India thought he went over the top and lost direction a bit with RRR. Cheers!

Best movie of last year without competition; I wish everyone would see this now and the fact that it wasn’t nominated for best director, cinematography, score & picture is insulting. I like comicbook movies a lot but nothing comes close to this. Most marvel movies nowadays try to just be wes cravens swamp thing. The tone he has a perfect control of is so difficult to perfect which is why the MCU is not what it use to be before they got bought by Disney. Snyder is a fine filmmaker but the use of slowmo in RRR is unmatched. This movie is just on another level other movies just can’t even get in the room

Eloquently said, Down right condescending that the academy has put lesser movies above RRR. And we know has if this was a Hollywood movie, the oscars would be all over it. And really this shows the true face of the academy and its politics. It is a disservice to cinema.

3:16 That was the only historically ACCURATE thing in the movie , that was Freedom fighter Alluri Sita Rama Raju REAL LIFE attire , Saffron robes bow & Arrow. He did not transform into 'GOD RAM 'as many people mistakenly think, he actually became the FINAL Real FORM of RAM RAJU. Since The freedom fighters were Named after God RAM & Demi-god BHEEM , The Director gave them the attributes of those God's. God RAM is known to be a Skilled , Technical & Strong Warrior , Obedient ,Focused & Kind which you can see in RAMA RAJU in Film. Lord BHEEM was known to be a FOOD LOVER, INNOCENT, cheerful but had the POWER & BRUTE STRENGTH of 10000 Elephants , You can see these characteristics in BHEEM in the film.

The climax fight Ramaraju's character is not being Lord Ram of Ramayana like most assume, nope he's not a God. That is actually the attire donned by the freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju in real life & the director put his own spin by showing Ram as transforming in that scene. The Saffron dress & topless look fits how he looked in real life. This movie was actually inspired by The Motorcycle diaries (2004) & Inglourious Basterds (2009) - the climax Hitler getting shot with a machine gun in the French theatre, which we know is entirely fictional. Both Alluri Sitarama Raju & Komaram Bheem were born at the same time, leaving their homes respectively in their 20s & for next 2-3 Years, nobody knew what happened to them & later they both come back to their villages as completely changed men with Alluri Sitarama Raju with the saffron robe inspired his village to take arms to fight against the oppressors, Komaram Bheem educated his people & also inspired his people to fight against the Britishers & *both never met each other in real life* The director SS Rajamouli sir seeing the interesting coincidence made a fictional tale, "What if" Both met each other & become best friends & inspire each other & change each other's lives. That is what this movie is about, it is set in the 2-3 unaccounted years of these freedom fighters & the director celebrated them as larger than life figures in a fun entertaining way instead of being patriotic.

Nutshells off RRR MOVIE (Rise -Roar -Revolt) Telugu film Industry,India.(Tollywood) 1) Time period of 1920 yr.. True, Real Freedom fighters, seeta rama raju from andhra pradesh state and Komuram bheem from telangana statess, in history both of them Raju and bheem were from same timeline but never met each other in reality, in original history they both went missing for 4 years during this 1920 time period, no one knows where they went and what they did, but after 4 years they both returned to their villages and fought their own fights and both sacrificed their lives for our country, Director rajamouli hv woven a fictional story that what happens if they met each other, and exchange their ideas and ideologies in the time period they went missing... That's how this movie was born.... This movie is about India's freedom from british rule, deologies in the time period they went missing... That's how this movie was born.... This movie is about India's freedom from british rule, 2) whole story concept revealed instantly with an a logic instant ideas applying to the scenes, On Train blast incident, Ramraju catches a flag (a strong will for freedom mission resembles a Flag) n Komuram Bheem save a child (resembles as saviour to get back a girl , mission of Bheem ) exchanged by them, their missions.. 2) In RRR we find the performances of english actors far better, that's because rajamouli approached professionals, the one who played Scott is "Ray Stevenson" one who acted in "Thor" movies, one who played lady Scott is "Alison doody" the lead actress from indiana jones.... .. Rrr released in more than 10languages across the world.. Telugu is original version TELUGU FILM INDUSTRY,(Tollywood), Hyderabad City (Bhagyanagari),2 Telugu States ,India. (Telangana n Andhra Pradesh states) 3) When ram captures bheem's clan member, he catches a snake n attacks ram even though he is tied, that man catching the snake is justified coz they r gond tribals, they know everything abt every animal, how to trap and catch them, n how to treat animal attacks using natural ayurvedic remedies, since they were born n brought up in jungle along with those animals n plants, that's how even jr NTR is able to tame n control the animals during interval sequence.... That song jr NTR sings while being whipped "komaram bheemudo", few non indian and north indian audience may find the song lil distasteful because they r unaware of the importance of the song, the gond tribe (the telangana people) who faced many tortures under the nijam rule, hv developed a habit of singing folklore songs explaining their pain n oppression for years, these songs kind of made those people stronger n revolt against nijams, similarly at the end of the song people revolt, even now a days these songs r famous in Telangana area, we andhra n telangana people r familiar with such songs, but north indian n non indian audience may not hv any idea abt it, even the song komaram bheemudo was written by one of the famous revolutionary singer from telangana area, if u concentrate on the lyrics of the song we can feel the oppression his people r facing.... 4) the subtext or easter egg about the "Barbed whip" that lady scott threw to torture jr NTR is that in the climax when the Scott's empire blows up when lady scott died we can see her body hanging in "Barbed wires" implying that she finally got what she deserved.... "karma is a bitch"🤭🤭🤣 5)near the climax when jr NTR knocks on the floor to find ram who was imprisoned in the ground, he actually knocks the same beats of Nacho Nacho song, so that only ram charan could recognise it's him rather than other possible prisoners, ram charan also reciprocates by knocking the same beat of nacho nacho, even in the earlier scene when ram charam is bit by snake he plays the same beats to communicate with jr NTR, the cinematic brilliance of rajamouli for using a song in so many ways giving easter eggs all the way around is lit🔥🔥🔥 hatsoff to rajamouli 🙏 6) In a scene where they show the security measures of the palace they had 2 doors at entrance, only after closing the 1st door they will open 2nd door, if we observe both the doors clearly and also if we listen to the creek sounds of both doors, we would know the outer door is a wooden one, and the inner door is a metal one, so to rescue malli they can break the outer door but they can't break the inner door, that's the reason y the character jhangu climbs a tree and listens for the 2nd door to open to rescue malli in interval scene... Every small detail in this movie is well planned and well executed... 7) the scene about bheem carrying ram in the climax sequence may seem a bit overemphasized, but even earlier in the film in dosti song there was a shot giving easter eggs, where we can see jr ntr doing squats on the ground lifting ram charan, then ram charan does pull ups holding a tree branch, this way rajamouli is planting an idea subconsciously to his audience that jr ntr got lower body strength n ram charan got upper body strength... So that audience get convinced during the climax scene where bheem carries ram... Even the scene seems physically impossible, rajamouli never hesitates to show his ideas n imaginations in the mostmost convincing way possible, that scene may be impossible but u could never find any other director pulling of such a scene in any film like rajamouli... Respect.... 8) The same way In climax fight sequence bheem lifting a bike looks over the top for sure, but do u know those bikes were actually used during second world war time so that in any unforeseen situation during war the soldiers can actually carry the bikes, those bikes weight around 55kgs only, i agree that even 55 kg bike travelling at 50kmph velocity is difficult to be lifted... But look at the way it was imagined, presented, picturized, the mesmerising cinematography in that scene, the kind of goosebumps it gave us, we should watch the movie for its epicness, rather than being nitpicky about everything.... 9) At the climax that transformation of ram charan🔥🔥, many people thought that was sree ram's avatar, there are many indian purana's references to the movie for sure but its not only sree ram's avatar, it is also about the original look of Alluri seeta rama raju (the freedom fighter ram charan was playing), alluri seeta rama raju in history was well learnt man who wears those kashayam clothes fights with bow n arrows, probably the best archer india has ever had, he fought against britishers he got weapons n guns by attacking police stations n british camps, he used the same weapons to attack britishers with his trusted men... Even he was shot dead bybritishers in the freedom struggle... Legend says that britishers put around 100 bullets in his body n ruthlessly killed him... At the end of the film rajamouli showed ram n bheem in their original looks ram wearing kashayam clothes, with long hair n beard, bheem with a pagdi on his head n those clothes gond people used to wear... 10) the final RRR fact, For the interval sequence with animals rajamouli shot for around 65 nights, each night they spent around 75lakhs for the shoot itself... In that interval sequence they had to imagine animals were there n fight accordingly, for that to happen n so that each n every background artist to be in sync with the CG animals rajamouli employed different tactics while shoot a) for bear they used a person wearing green blanket, since the movement of bear is slow similar to a human being... b)For shots with tiger, tiger moves much faster than humans, so they can't just place a human with green blanket, so rajamouli positioned laser lights following the head position of the tiger, so that camera man n actors can imagine the position of tiger n act accordingly. c) for wolves they used dogs which were trained to catch a ball, while shooting the sequence they randomly throw the balls in middle of men, so the dogs chase the balls, in that way rajamouli captured peoples reactions to wolves, later on during CG he replaced the dogs with wolves... d) for other fast moving animals like deers, they used remote controlled cars moving in between the actors.... n many more... AWARDS FOR RRR MOVIE FROM US N UK ZONE.. 1)Golden globe award 2)Critic choice moive award 3)Los Angeles films critics Association Award 4)south eastern film critics Association award 5)Shaturn Award 6) Newyork film critic online award 7)Newyork film critic Circle award 8) National board of review award 9)Hollywood critic Association 10)Atlanta film association award 11)Georgia film critic Association award 12) Boston society of film critics award 13) Austin film critic Association award 14) Allien of women film journalist association award 15) Huta film critic Association award 16) Tomato Rotten awards n .. many more Oscar is in rest...to win All awards from Western countries ...

Justin. Dude. As an Indian I just want to reinforce all of your instincts. You get it my man. You approach the masculine agenda with a mindset that makes cultural specifics incidental - all because you're using a bro mindset. That approach is often celebrated for its simplicity but not enough for its nuance. You balance both. Which, coincidentally, is ideal for RRR

@@Hicks-g1m Yes if you cannot find the Telugu version then the Hindi version is really good as well. All the Indian languages dubbing are done by the actors themselves. You get to hear the actors's voices. of course the original version is the best as he said. The English version is terrible, do use that one. Happy watching.

Today more than half of the global knows English and can speak it at different levels thats why Hollywood movies earn this much and the budget is this much big but our movies are typically only dubbed in 3-4 Indian languages yet people from Africa, middle east, Indonesia and even Central Asia know more about Indian especially Hindi movies more than Hollywood and this is a very big thing !! And now they got so much influenced by it that now they can understand Hindi or Urdu..🤣🤣 And just imagine if we get the even half of your budget what kind of movie our creators can create !!! We have big epic stories our history and mythology is the biggest if we just get that budget we can make them all the best possible way. And i know the day SS Rajamouli gets that mammoth budget he will start making The Mahabharata the next day

I completely agree with you on marvel movies ,, I don’t understand why they want to throw a dumb joke in the middle of an intense fight ,, it is not required ,, Thor is the biggest example of this phenomenon ,, it has got great visuals but instead of holding on to intensity they just remove you from that immersive scene with there idiotic jokes ,, and they keep on doing in the whole movie ,, and they completely under utilised gorr ,, he should have had a bigger role than what was shown in the movie

Jump in the rabbit hole of Indian cinema. There are many languages in India in different states, hence there are different movie industries. Bollywood is Hindi language, Tollywood is Telugu and Bengali language, Kollywood is Tamil, etc. If you would like some more movies to check out, here are a few recommendations:- 1> Tumbbad (horror) 2> Uri (military action drama) 3> Sardar Udham (historical drama and is almost 90% accurate to real life events) 4> Gangs of Wasseypur (Part 1 & 2) a crime family drama. India's The Godfather. One of our best movies and my favourite crime movie.

I don't know name but they had a really good Hindi Game of Thrones thing about how to deal with Wight Walkers at Long Night Debacle hehe. I'm dyslexic so I can't get into foreign or dub things. Even movies like Gojira can be difficult for me to read or follow along. Anime Vinland Saga I had to read it on pause often. I still think that dude on left is Animatronic version of Justin hehe. I'm not a fan of epic movies really. To me its like Jungle Book Sabu or Slumdog Millionaire or if into Lou Farigno Hercules. I seen some odd Silent Movies that would flip most out to know exist hehe. They were just giving her a job. There is a term for painting the hands or body even the stuff used. Why I know about that is beyond me ;). Dracula Untold story has crossroads part if ever seen that which was pretty cool. They got some really epic battles in it but aspect ratio haha. If into Mummy or Mummy Returns or Van Helsing its Great Movie Monster Fit. I might eventually get it. Even Immortals kinda has a cool aspect like Wraith or Clash of Titans Remake. I don't even like the Marvel movies. Action sequences seem kinda cool if in movies. I"m simply unable to read or follow along subs haha. How Good Mourning didn't win award or get nominated is beyond me. I'm an Organic Vegetarian so Animal stuff don't really appeal to me ;). I don't like cats I'm a Dog Person into Hounds haha. I had no idea who MGK was or that was same person from Jennifer Body. She really into her Feet now has scene for that. Then Becky G another Star even somebody claiming to be Avril Lavigne. His X is in it as person too. Pirates of Penzanze is like only musical I can tolerate. Even Sweeney Todd or so that Depp Burton movie is not my thing. Little Shop of Horrors is fine. I do like instruments from their place when they jam. I'm so in mood for Pizza now :). Only a fan of The Last JEdi could Enjoy this haha :). Bollywood or what term has some amazing visuals. I don't even own BEn Hur or Sparticus not Sword Sandals dude hehe. I thought of getting the old classic Vykings starring people who are anything but :). Makes me think of Live Action Version of Lion King thing to me. The Passion I saw in movies with Mom on Ashe Wednesday :). I already knew what happens so didn't need to read as much :). Voltron supposedly used to inspire a Revolution from back in Lion Days too :). To be Fair even Adam West Batman movie I Think is nearly 3 hours :). How BaseketBall or so didn't win Emmy is haha ;). Ghandi I used to have to sit for like an hour intermission before next part on HBO hehe. Sky Captain is movie that started all this Green Screen stuff actually :).

I love your review, but just a suggestion, research little bit before making videos . It feels more like anecdotes given to friend then a review , because there were so many inconsistencies like Bheem was father of the girl who was kidnapped, or lead actors maybe from different countries. P.s. don't take it the wrong way , just pointing something out because felt like so

TEN THINGS I LEARNED WITH "RRR": √ The greatest 'dance off' ever on film. √ The handsomest tough guy ever on film. √ The most sensitive tough guy ever on film. √ The ultimate display in crowd control. √ A dude threw a leopard at another dude. √ I can watch 3 hrs in a mostly foreign language. √ Critical acclaim from acclaimed directors. √ James Wan is holding S.S. Rajamouli's beer. √ The lack of Oscar nominations says volumes: √ Hollywood has no clue why this is so good.
