Excellent. One of the coolest uses I've seen for this new stretch algorithm. Almost forgot you could modulate fx like the EQ. :)

I gotta admit, this is a feature that I didn't think I'd care much for, but now I'd like to experiment with it a bit 🤔
@ThePilate302 жыл бұрын
My word, this is amazing. The beauty of Reaper plug ins, and this channel of course, is that it's a bit of a look behind the curtain. It shows you how the shiny third party plug ins work, and how, with just a bit of automation knowledge, you can achieve what they do and more with stock plug ins! Being stripped down and not flashy makes this even easier. Great job as always!

Wow,so awesome,Reaper rules. I would never know this technique without Kenny.

Thanks Kenny. This is the first example of this new feature I have seen which actually makes musical sense for me. Others I have seen were more just special effects applications.

Big addition, Reaper just keeps getting better and better. The thing that is currently missing (imo) is being able to adjust (and automate) the Window Size (or grain size as it labelled in Ableton Live) in the Simple Windowed stretch mode but also add this to Rrreeeaaa Synthesis and Analysis Offset. No idea whether this is already available through some action that I am unaware of. If it is, I am all ears.
@timnordberg72042 жыл бұрын
being able to modulate the timestretch parameters would be huge. but when you use Simple Windowed timestretch, you can adjust the window size in the Media Item Properties (F2 when selecting a media item). the box that displays the current window size drops down into a chooser when you click on it, which allows you to select different time ranges for the window and the percentage of rise/fall time for each grain.
@nectariosm2 жыл бұрын
@@timnordberg7204 you have to click on one of the available window sizes, Reaper offers. In Ableton Live you can automate the grain size within the audio clip.

I saw this some months back...forgot about it...suddenly got in a pickle trying to get delay effects...remembered this ...Bingo! EQ modulation on the stretched duplicate file was exactly what I needed. Where would we be without Kenny! Thanks so much.

For crying out loud Kenny, knock it off!!! I’m watching so many of your videos lately you’re smacking me silly with all these intros! Great stuff as usual though. Like others have said, your videos don’t just teach me more about this great DAW but it also gives me creative ideas and inspiration to sit down and write. Thank you very much. 🤙🏼

Reminds me of the free VST 'PaulStretch'. It's been around a long time and it's a tad cumbersome to use compared with this. missed that this had been added to Reaper. Thank you Kenny for your truly clear instruction on this new addition.

Thanks, Kenny! This was feature I've missed in Reaper for a long time. I used to use a 3rd party software to time stretch audio tracks this way (can't remember the name) and then import it into Reaper but that was just a clunky workflow. Thanks again for your videos, they are always very helpful :)

OK, now this is really awesome, I always thought, they do this with auto tune, so you, in basic, make a pad from any instrument/ voice you want? I'm going to use this in my next project I have, where the vocals are pretty boring, IMO. Like I said before, Reaper has so many features, and I know only the tip of the iceberg. And every time, you uncover these features. Good we have you Kenny.
