The kid is a mess and I really think there’s no hope for him, but if there is the first step is to make him face consequences. Yeah, here is the update with only the link to the original story missing, copied and pasted.... Some stuff has happened recently and many of you have wanted an update on this. Appreciate the reassurance and understanding my decision when seems that many in this situation didn’t. I remained firm in my decision about not letting them use my property for their wedding. Even if they changed their mind about inviting us which honestly I don’t care about anymore. Rick’s family (thanks to him) got a hold of my cell so that was more people I had to deal with. I put my foot down with Rick a few days ago and told him directly that I will go to the police and press charges for harassment (I have all the texts and calls documented). Also had a very long talk with Carla about everything going on. She apologized for it all. And she knows it’s her own fault. Well she decided to be the one to call things off in the end. Some of my friends still seem to think it’s my fault and I’m taking some distance from them for a while. And also from Carla after getting some confirmation on a few things that I needed to know. Whole thing is a mess. I’m only glad in the end that I didn’t give in to their demands and the constant bugging has stopped.. It still was a huge headache over the last few days and not the kind of drama I want back in my life. Thank you to everyone who made me feel supported in this. The last story, the last sentence enraged me enough to actually go look for the post, and there was a BIG UPDATE from OP; the wedding got called off entirely by Carla. OP mentioned that she apologized and said that the situation was her fault. The fact that this was enough for the entire wedding to be called off gives off some pretty big red flags about Rick, beyond him being insecure.
@terra_the_nightingale1353 жыл бұрын
Ooh I need to see that update. Of course Carla should’ve told him but maybe there’s a reason she didn’t? But if that’s the case then the relationship wouldn’t have been good to start with. Or this should’ve been discussed in like therapy or something but jeez. Idk why Rick is pinning the blame on OP, that doesn’t make any sense. @@terra_the_nightingale135 I think Rick in the story seems to be a very insecure man, and that he was compensating for this by not wanting OP around during the wedding. Red flags about Rick? The red flags are coming from Carla. Carla admitted to OP that she is still in love with him. You might have rational parents,he doesn’t

@@pandoratheclay I don't think it would be rational to murder someone over that!

Levi is 16! Excuse me??? He can't even control his actions. That's insane. The fact he's a 16 year old, targeting a young girl that's mid-development just learning about her surroundings properly, she may start picking up what he's doing!!! Levi is a problem. He needs consequences, and quite frankly I'd call the cops on Levi to teach him a lesson. To show him what will happen

Levi's dad: "Your 12 year old daughter was being mean to my 16 year old son. He's the victim here. Apologize to him and sign a contract that you won't punish him" Good for you op, don't let him back in your house

Man I really enjoy how you're not afraid to say what you think about these situations and don't walk that fence👌

Story 2: Yeah. That's pretty much the only way millennials can get houses these days. Unless they somehow get a 6-figure salary the minute they leave college.

I wish I had a parent like Susan's dad. Whenever my brother kicked off, hurt me, stole something or did anything wrong she'd just pamper to him and I'd feel like I was the one who made trouble.

First story: When I heard the first part I knew OP wasn’t the a**hole, but when the mother tried to let things slide it made it worse. That kid face literally no consequences for his evil actions, in the countrary, it recieves backup.

"A joke is only a joke when everyone laughs" this statement is false. Humor is subjective, that dude was being a piece of shit, but not everyone has to laugh for a joke to be a joke

who actually laughed at his "joke"?

Although i see your point, I think rSlash means that no one is offended/hurt/whatever, like if you don't laugh it can still be a joke but if it hurt you then it's not

I have to commend you for your vastly improved judgement of parents since you’ve become a parent yourself. Spot on on the first story!
