I truly don’t understand what’s wrong with people, like why be ignorant to people in a restaurant? Haven’t you ever heard those horror stories where someone gets their food messed with because they were ignorant? Shit even I a chef will never be ignorant to any staff in a restaurant, not even if they deserve it because I’ve seen some nasty shit go on behind the scenes & I don’t want to piss off anyone that’s handling my food, that’s just asking for your food to be fucked with. My mother works for one of the two biggest Stores here in Switzerland (Coop) which is a contender for the other large one (Migros) They both have Orange Logos so i would understand if people confused them on a quick glance. However the Coop-Employee Uniforms are Light-Blue, they usually wear a dark blue small scardish thing with orange trims and their dress code requires them to wear dark-blue to black pants and dark shoes. The Employee-Uniform of Migros consists of Orange-Shirt with pretty much any pants and dark shoes. i also don't remember them having a scarf or anything else around the neck. YET, my mother, even when NOT coming straight from work, gets mistaken for an Employee in the Migros-Stores. But only gets asked about where things are or for help while in the Store she works at (Because obviously some customers remember her and are politely asking)

An elderly man asked me where the cocoa was and I politely told him I didn't work there but I'd be happy to help. Had a pleasant conversation about how I looked like a Safeway employee. I don't understand these " I know the owner people" personally for me it's just a rule that I treat service people kindly as I have been in that field. If I had a friend who say owned a McDonald's I wouldn't be trying to make problems for them by making problems for his employees.
@SIPEROTH4 жыл бұрын
People think that using the owner in some way would give them what they want. I worked as a waiter for some years and sometimes i still help as a little part time thing and we work with reservations. So when a client comes and we show them their table(basically table choice goes along with first call first served. If you called last then you get whatever table is left) and they want a different table the first thing they do is ask if they can talk to the owner hoping they can go over our heads and use the owner to get the table they want. It's always the first thing in their lips. Whenever i hear them asking for the owner i then get specifically stubborn on making sure i put them in the worst table possible even if someone at a better table cancels. Also i make sure i put them at the bottom of my priority list on serving them well. I don't give a shit about tips ether since such entitled people aren't the kind to leave good tips anyway.
@BersealiaDreamheart4 жыл бұрын
Anon ymous You can say that again. Especially the part about the tips. After all, the Karen in the last story didn’t tip as the narrator said.
@jamescook85364 жыл бұрын
@@BersealiaDreamheart very true, wait staff usually treats me well as I typically tip about 50%. It may sound like a lot but it really isn't, if I go eat and my meal is $20 I typically leave a $10 tip. I just know how it feels to be in their spot and they will try so much harder to accommodate you if you are a regular especially with small requests.tipping decently benefits both the server and the customer when it's done regularly at the same places.

Matthew Lin true but it does depend on what store you’re at and where they’re from. If they’re from a bad neighborhood they’ll probably be nice because they’re barely getting by so they don’t get everything. If they’re from some rich as hell neighborhood then it’s gonna be different. In my city we have two walmart stores(about 20 mins apart)and each of them have amazing employees. 90% of the employees there are really nice and friendly so it’s not uncommon to see some people stopping and having a chat with them. The other 10% is the entitled shits but I rarely see them because they are fricking laying on their ass in a couch at home. Unfortunately I go to the one high school with entitled people written all over it.

Yeah, I used to work at a Walmart and there is absolutely no company policy against customers taking pictures of prices/products. In fact some employees appreciate it when a customer has a picture of an item that has seemingly odd pricing cause it makes it easier to look up the item (since the self label has all the information to look up said item and it is much easier than having another employee go try to track down the item) to confirm pricing (every once in a while the scanners glitch and/or have the wrong price in the system). I could see why they might be a bit salty if they think it is another store trying to snipe prices but there are official channels for that since Walmart employees are actually not allowed to confront customers except in extreme cases (if it is a matter of life and death that an employee can do whatever is necessary to keep others safe). Confronting people in the store is solely up to loss prevention and security (some stores only have loss prevention and they are mostly just for stalling until police arrive). So either way that employee was definitely getting a write up for that, it's pretty much the opposite of what an employee should do in such a situation.

I love these because I actually do work in retail and know full well that these stories are not even exaggerated. If I'm not working, but happen to be shopping in my store, people recognise me even when I'm not in uniform (I work in baker's whites - white shirt and trousers that are far too big for me - stunning!) and sometimes ask me where a certain item lives and I'll point them in the right direction because, 1 - they ask nicely, 2 - I know where it is and 3 - it takes less than a minute of my time to help someone. Generally, our customers are lovely - polite, smiley, friendly, chatty, so you don't mind helping them outside of working hours. Once in a while, though, I can confirm that the Karen does exist in both female and male forms (do we have a name for the male Karen??) and they just seem to want nothing more than to make your day as miserable as possible. They are impatient even though they've been waiting two seconds, they talk down to you or as though you're stupid (most of us have degrees and other skills outside of work), they interrupt when you're helping other customers, they get angry and then, sometimes, they storm away and return to do the whole thing again. They're the people who give us all something to talk and laugh about in the staff-canteen, so they do serve a purpose, but honestly, when you're dealing with them, they can be the most horrible, tedious people on the planet. The thing is, I don't think, even if they heard us talking about our experience with them or saw one of these videos that they would recognise themselves as the key character.

Comedians are the LAST people you want to try pick a fight with in front of a crowd, because you WILL be ridiculed, and in glorious fashion. Fun times!
