First story - OP is NTA. Her house, her rules. Not only that, why would a visitor have sex in their host's bed? Asexual or not, family or not, that's just a complete and total disregard for boundaries and sexual harassment. Second story - Holy shit is OP's mom in love with OP? It seems clear that everything she's done here was to try and ruin OP's relationship so she could have her son all to herself. OP is NTA, but he will be if he keeps letting his mom back in his home after this. This time it was a chicken, but what happens if his mom decides to throw away something of sentimental value to his fiancee. Third story - OP is NTA, and his son definitely is. He chose to have a child with his late wife and he abandoned that child after his wife died. This kid is lucky her grandparents have her back and have been actual parents to her. He could have had both Simone and his career if he really wanted it. He wants his new wife, he wants his career, he just doesn't want Simone. Fourth story - OP is NTA. His daughter definitely is considering that she treated her father like the bad guy until she needed money from him. Then she refused to include her biological father in the wedding festivities, and actually dissed him on social media. If you bite the hand that feeds, you don't get to complain when that hand stops feeding you.

Honestly, OP did kinda overreact with that sentence alone, if she had just scolded her sister and told her this is her house and her rules and kicked them out with or without them having another place to stay then oh well too bad OP would be fully in the clear and only her sister and the fiance would be the AH but by saying what she said that fully put OP in the AH territory.

Last story: Rslash, you need to give the mother a 3/5 BH score because of fostering an atmosphere of hostility towards the father despite her being the one to break up their marriage. She allowed the youngest to hate her father by not taking accountability of her actions because of not wanting to be the villain that she is, she allowed the character of her husband (who sounds like a stand up guy) to be tarnished in the eyes of his kids for years, and the youngest to this day.
@SoManyRandomRamblings2 жыл бұрын

Sounds like a typical situation. Very few people women or men accept responsibility for their actions. If she was capable of lying and cheating. Why wouldn’t she want to control the narrative and alienate the kids afterwards. Notice the two older kids had to realize on their volition that Mom was the offending party and the lier. The daughter was much younger and the Mom got her to pair bond with the stepdad. Unfortunately for OP his daughter is lost to him. Better to take back the money and go NC. The term for what OP's mom is doing in story 2 is "covert incest." In a nutshell, it describes emotional incest with your child. Lots of these stories about moms who get insanely jealous of their sons' wives/girlfriends or dads who rabidly guard their daughters' virginity fit the bill. *EDIT:* Just thought I should clarify that jealousy of a child's romantic partners is just one potential sign of covert incest. Other signs include confiding in a child and seeking their advice about topics inappropriate to their age, such as a parent's relationship problems or sex life, expecting their child to be the one to give them praise and affection instead of the other way around, denying a child any sense of privacy, including barging in while their child is in the nude or being nude around the child when they've been asked not to be, referring to the child by names and roles typically reserved for adult partners (such as a mother referring to her son as "the man of the house" or a father half-jokingly referring to his daughter as his "little housewife”) and generally treating the child in a way that you would expect more from an emotionally needy romantic partner than a parent.

As in, as a sexual person, love and sex usually go together ( but of course it doesn't always have too). For me the topic of sexuality is really easy: As long as everyone involved in a sexual act agrees with what is happening, is an adult and is aware of the entire situation, everything is fine. If just one person who is involved disagrees with anything or is not made aware, it should not happen. If there is an act, everyone taking part AND witnessing it (or finding the remains of the act) [as well as the people having a legitimate interest in the sexuality of someone taking part (i.e. the people they are in a relationship with)] is involved in this act in some way. If there is no act, though, noone is involved, so noone has to agree.

Story 1....you respect your host's wishes. When visiting my grandma with my fiance I stayed at a hotel instead of at her house like I did when traveling alone, out of respect for my grandma's traditions of not sleeping in the same bed till married while under her roof......and guess what she never asked, I just knew that since she was the host I should respect her norms, not impose mine upon her in her own house.

3rd story, I was willing to give Jason the reasoning that his daughter would bring back memories of his dead wife & would advise that he sells grief counseling. However that went away from as they mentioned in the end when they said he pays cold support and Jason feels that's enough. 4.5 is fully justified then

#1: Sadly, this is something that people on the ace spectrum deal with on the daily. It's easy to look at this as simply not respecting boundaries, but there's a whole other layer to this when you're asexual -- people don't think your sexuality is real, and they want to find ways to prove it to you. This is something that pretty much every LGBTQIA+ person deals with, but ace spectrum folks tend to fly under the radar. So yeah, it's important to know that it's more than boundaries, it's phobic and an attempt to erase who a person is. It's bigotry. #2, #3, #4: Family are trash, lol.

The word you're looking for in the second story is enmeshment. It's a psychological term for parents who raise their children to be the ideal spouse and then lash out at their children's partners because they reap the rewards for the parents hard work. It's very codependent and concerning.

Once you do you will stop feeling [sexual orientation], also it's just weird and frankly against Human nature to have the feelings you do, plus you don't REALLY feel that way anyways and are just looking for attention. How about all your friends go out to a bar or something with you and try to change your mind!
