I'm not Canadian , but I grew up in Bellingham, Washington , not far from the Canadian border. I've travelled through every province in Canada, and yes Canada is a great nation, filled with great people. And of course, Gordon Lightfoot is one of the greatest singer-songwriters in history.

We were there and it was an amazing tribute to Gordon. We took our old albums and he was so gracious afterwards that he came out and autographed them. It was a beautiful, hot, windy day while sipping wine in a vineyard.

Gordon Lightfoot Canadian legend. Song writer of the very highest order. A legend. I have enjoyed listening to his music from the 70's. His albums are a source of pleasure every time I listen to them.

Seen Gord 5 times, we can see now that he enjoys stepping back out of the spotlight to watch and listen to other great musicians having so much fun with his life's work. What a beautiful working retirement it must be watching a lifetime of hard work live on like this. Long Live Gordon Lightfoot. 😇

gordon is a treasure, I saw him 2 times, I listened to this as a kid in my parents car when it was on the radio in the 70's,....it is as good today as it was then.

I’ve found more layers in this song since I heard it than any other. I sing it when I’m sad, when I’m happy and even though rare moments of the serene.

What a magical moment. What an amazing performance. I guess this is one of the last times Gordon performed the song. The power of the song is in the voices in the chorus - and here he receives them in full force. But also the four stanzas were done perfectly. you guys are great.Thanks!

God gave gave us booze and music and prayer to help us make it through life's despairs and the grind of it all...I don't drink anymore, but I still have music and prayer. God Bless Gordon Lightfoot! The dude with the wine glass had a pretty good voice, and cocking that mic down some, brought Gordon's voice on strong there at the end!!! Great Job People 👏 👍 👌

Listen to his less known albums of the 70’s such as Don Quixote, Old Dan Records and Cold on The Shoulder ….masterpieces. His mastery of song and voice was unmatched.

I got to see Gordon at the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, CA, back in the late 80's. Amazing show. He was one of the few musicians who sounded as good live as on his records. And don't even get me started on his songwriting ... absolutely stellar ❤❤❤

Spent quite a few Friday and Saturday nights dancing to this song at a local club Great cover band but I still get a little nostalgic when I hear this, my wife and a friends wife really made the nights memorable and romantic.

Not sure but think it was a tribute to him, it was not a gordon lightfoot concert, I heard he is going to be touring in Canada this summer. Caught his show about 5 years ago and it was great, had a great sence of humor and the music was great, sure his voice was not as strong as perhaps when he was in his prime but he was on key and still was superb, Canadian treasure.

He wasn't feeling too good that day.. it was a charity event on a hot summer day..it was said he wasn't gonna do any performing.. But he did pull out his guitar midway thru, and sang one song.
