Looking forward to it, Why don't we see regular KZbin stories from RSPB England? We have many fantastic sites but don't get any media, when you live in the middle of the country and can't get to places like Titchwell, Arne, Bempton etc easily maybe just a few times a year but would love to see media like the great videos we get from RSPB Scotland, well done and keep it coming.

I've been feeding our local birds for many years here in north Manchester. I'm seeing a slight increase in Sparrows recently (over the years the decline has been a worry though), Collard Doves, a community of Goldfinch has taken over and the odd pair of Bullfinches are seen regularly. I've seen Nuthatches and a pair of greenfinches visiting the feeders. Chaffinches are quite rare, but I have seen them. A sparrow hawk has even noticed the feeding frenzy and calls for lunch occasionally too. Amazing so close to town. I seem to be the only one putting out food locally, so I assume I'm seeing birds arriving from quite a distance away.

That’s good that it has been supported by The Alexander Moncur Trust.

More goldfinches than anything in my garden, they seem to enjoy sunflower hearts.

Is it better to do bird watch after this weekends storm is over? Or carry on as normal?
@RSPBvideo11 күн бұрын
Hi Toni - we run the Big Garden Birdwatch on the last weekend of January every year so that our data is most comparable to previous years. We'd advise those affected by the storm to take part in the Big Garden Birdwatch when the intensity of the storm has died down. Currently, it looks like the Sunday will be the calmest day for most, but we'd recommend checking your local weather reports/warnings to ensure you stay safe during your count! We hope you're able to enjoy taking part, despite the weather. 😊

Is it not live on KZbin this year please?

You may love it as we all do; but there has been a massive decline in the bird population in the UK, decades in the the making. I never saw that coming. In 1990 there was a genuine dawn chorus outside the window of my second floor council flat. 2024: it's mostly silent now.
