Hi Cat! I think the newer editions are sewn bindings, though the first runs were glued. If I’m not mistaken they mention that on their website. God bless!!

I've been a Catholic all my life but I use a Protestant Bible because no one has seem to bother making a physical Bible that can match the outstanding superior quality of Cambridge or Dutch publisher Jongblood

1:33 if you notice the words Alpha Cowhide and with the R next to it that is a synthetic material. A top-of-the-line synthetic leather cover material, Alpha products are a thermo-sensitive, non-woven cover material which offer the genuine matte, soft-touch finish, replicating the supple feel of leather.

I have the leather version for longivity so it last longer than paperback n tabs. My spouse who has a Reading LD and she doesn't come from a Christian background it really helps her. I will read outloud to her and i shown her about it the colors etc read all the stuff she follows along and it helps her having that. I also have CCC asension version too and tabs... i made the investment for leather so fingers crossed beyween me and my wife using it and my tendancy of. Never being caught without a rosery and a bible...

I absolutely love mine. I think the cowhide on the back was a misprint. Mine said leathersoft when I got it. The Reading plan is indeed 3 months and only covers the Narrative books, not the Supplemental books. Have you purchased the Timeline chart to go with it? the price is roughly $65 :) Definitely not bad

Does each book have a summary at the beginning? Or does only each time period have a summary? I like when each book has a summary describing who wrote the book, the time it was written, maybe a quick summary of the book, etc. Does this bible do that? It doesn't appear it is done for each book unfortunately.

Yeah the 3 month plan is only the books that give the main thread of the history of salvation. So one can read through that and get a good understanding of salvation history and then read supplemental books. The charts show where the supplemental books fall on the timeline. Example when you read the prophets you can see what part of salvation history that prophet was prophesying! So cool! Also I just want to let you know i think you have such a beautiful heart! When you were talking about the book introductions you said there "was an intro for each of the 66 books" I just wanted to mention this is a Catholic bible and the Catholic canon actually has 73 books. I'd hate for someone to spend a whopping $65 for this bible and realize it is not a Protestant bible.

Actually, the intros are not for each of the Bible books but for each timeline period. So, like, in Genesis, there are two introductions because Genesis covers two periods in biblical history.

$89 for a glued binding. It's a joke. Most American publishers just want to push product out and don't care about quality. It's awful. That said I am probably going to buy one for my friend. I'm going to get her a few different Bibles.

FWIW, "Alpha Cowhide" is not cowhide at all. It's synthetic. It's just that the company that makes it registered and trademarked "Alpha Cowhide," presumably in an effort to confuse things. Also, as others have stated, the first run of these were solely glued bindings. But they have since made it both sewn and glued. They still don't last. I had one and about 60 days in the binding looked as if I'd been carrying it on deployment for years. BUT, the good folks at Ascension sent me a new one right out with just a phone call. So they stand by their product and have great customer service. Just in case anyone might need that info. Good, detailed review.

Oremoose leather has covers specially fit for the Great Adventure Bible. I have mine and it LASTS. 🤍 I wish they would rebind this. I LOVE ascensions divine mercy Bible. Wonderful teachings about God's mercy throughout salvation history.
