So what's not too clear in most of these videos is that when the fuel pump and sender assembly is resting in the top of the tank and you are trying to get it pressed in, the trick is to slide the black gasket completely off the assembly and insert it into the opening of the gas tank. The gasket has a lip that will prevent it from dropping into the tank. Once the gasket is in place, the fuel pump assembly easily slides into the gasket.

Hi Vlad, Could you recommend a good fuel pump set for my 2004 RSX? It is a base model. I am not mechanically experienced however with your video, I feel confident enough to give this a try. My current car is at 180k KM mileage and I think I really need to change the fuel pump system. My car sometimes feels sluggish during acceleration and sometimes has rough idles.

I've used a hammer on a piece of 2x4 wood to knock the lock ring loose. Looks like a screw driver works too. This is the oem part no. 17045-S6M-A00 www.acurapartswarehouse.com/oem/acura~pump~assy~fuel~17045-s6m-a00.html?Make=Acura&Model=RSX&Year=2002&Submodel=&Filter=(bt=3%2c63;et=1%2c3)&Location=electrical_exhaust_heater_fuel/fuel_tank,,49

I've been looking for a fuel pump that fits an RSX (and 7th gen Civic). I came across an Aeromotive 11565 which looks a little shorter than most fuel pumps (including their 11542). Posting this in case anyone might find this useful. I haven't been able to check myself.
