thanks for the video. definitely need to rewatch this all over again. i still feel foolish. so from this video, does that mean i will first initiate rsync to take backup of the current content/folder of older harddrive. once that is done, i will then set some sort of destination from the new harddrive from the rsync. so it will then transfer all of it into new harddrive? im currently have the old 2 bay drive which i want to upgrade to bigger harddrive but still feeling a bit lost.

Sadly my trusty Asustor AS5004T from 2015 has died, any way I can recover the data from the raid drive (4 wd red 3 TB in raid 5)? Is there any chance that plugging in the drives into a new AS6704T, in the same disk order (disk1 -> slot1 ...) same as they were in the old one, the new NAS will recognize the array, or the data is completely lost?

hi, I would need your help with my NAS story. A long story short, I was looking for a nas solution for my home and I was indicated the nimbustore4 - I looked a bit for it and saw that it usually has nvme slots, so I can optimise it. Unfortunately they considered I dont need smthg like this so I bought gen one not gen2, not knowing that there are two identically looking but with or without nvme slots. Now my system is doing copy for the 3rd day in a row... It is bought last week from amazon. What can I do to repair a situation likt this? buy a new nimbus 2 gen2 for ex to cut expenses? sync them one to the other? Write to Asustor directly to try a solution with them? Probably they would have the module to stich it into the gen1 to make it gen 2 ? I-m kinda stuck as all my databases are in the process of transfer. Thanks in advance, Marius.

I am using a RJ45 cable btwn the mac and the nas in order to facilitate - and now it will take me some ten hrs to transfer about 300GB oups, 180GB in 13h as my indicator sais.PLEASE help. -

Great video but you have to get some new drives on the new NAS. Would be simpler to just move the drives from the old asustor NAS to the new one.

@@teksyndicate I mean why you keep derailing into stuff that's not really your primary interest.. Like where are the videos about photography, zweihander game development, metal, lan events, interviews, shit like that .. This is something there are specialized channels for and you don't need to bother with..
