Its a completely different phone thats been on the market like over half a year with no issues whatsoever and is water resistent with an audio jack, that Apple claims had to be removed to make the phone water resistant. Not sure how iphones are more trustworthy considering they had issues of their own. Theres always issues with technologies these days. And considering there have been only some 30ish, last number I saw but I don't follow it anyways, Note 7 exploding compared to over a million sold not really a big deal. And last thing I heard Samsung is doing a complete recall and offering full refunds and in my eyes thats trustworthier.

Just an FYI- setting off a cartridge outside of something to contain the force, is unlikely to hurt you, let alone kill you. Energy follows the the path of least resistance, which is why they use brass in cartridge cases, as it expands to fully seal the chamber, forcing the energy (and the bullet) down it's only escape route. Without this combo of a sealed breech and a forced path for the burning powder to expand into gasses, you have a small, impotent "pop", and no real force behind the projectile. Firefighters entering homes with live ammunition do not take any extra precautions, and I trust the guys who enter burning homes for a living to know what they should worry about.

So let me get this straight, they made the phone thinner, when it didn't have to be thinner as it adds no benefits. And they added a bigger battery, which pales in comparison to say other Androids. Samsung's S7 Edge has a smaller footprint than the iPhone 7 Plus and has a huge 3600mah battery compared to Apple's 2900mah or so (which has good life due to pretty smooth and optimized IOS (but plain)). They did that with water resistance, a good camera, and a headphone jack. I do not advocate for either, I've used both before, but Samsung has so far been better to me (aside from the Note 7 fiasco)

I am an electrician, I always assign switches closest to a doorway or entry way as the main lighting, that will be most often used. So the easiest and first switch you come across, will always turn on the most used lights. The furthest switch away from the door or entry, will be for the least used lights, or outside lights

Will getting rid of the 3.5mm jack be fine? Will we move on? Sure. But unlike the other things that they dropped and actually improved what they were replacing, this changed nothing. The 3.5mm jack just worked and didn't need to be removed and at least for me I don't want to replace my headphones or carry around adapters for my headphones. It's unneeded and not an improvement.

Apparently Gus doesn't have ears. Bluetooth headphones sound garbage compared to wired ones, and anyone that uses a DAC/preamp with their phones are totally out of luck.

That's entirely dependant on the quality of the DAC in the headphones; you can't just make a blanket statement that they all suck. I don't have any experience with bluetooth headphones myself but I'm sure the higher ends ones have DACs that are comparable to or better than your average smart phone's. And on the subject of DACs what does removing the headphone jack have to do with being able to use an external DAC? A DAC is a digital analogue converter, headphone jacks are analogue connections, the audio has already been processed by the phone's built in DAC by the time it reaches your headphone jack; an external DAC would have to connect to the lightning port, or via bluetooth.

Jamie Phipps Ok. Since you don't have experience with bluetooth headphones, I'll just let you know that because of current bluetooth technology, they all do actually suffer from issues such as latency, cut-outs, and the quality of the stream of sound. It's why no studio uses bluetooth anything. IMO, high end bluetooth earphones are completely pointless because of the limitations caused by the bluetooth technology. Using an external DAC with a phone is a good idea when your DAC is superior to the phones DAC (which they are in almost all cases). The bullet thing doesn't actually sound that dangerous. Detonating the charge in a bullet case without a chamber to direct the force would mean most of the momentum from the explosion would go sideways, breaking the casing, meaning much less force will go into the bullet and back of the case giving them a significantly lower velocity. It might still hurt but it would probably be no worse than an air gun and I doubt you could fire it through a fence that way.
