They've lost roughly 2.1% of their fans, which is really not a lot. The amount of views they have gotten from the controversy more than offset it. Plenty of newcomers trying to make a name for themselves on youtube would have used the service to self-promote,which in the real world, people trying to make a name for themselves, will do for free. TLDR : Nah, you're wrong on every point.

The amount of views mean close to nothing if the viewer's retention isn't there. They go to their videos just to dislike and leave, meaning that they usually don't even pay attention to the title of the video itself. Just curious really.

Barbara - there's no need for direct sunlight with solar panels (they're fine in the UK). It helps a lot, but it's not a requirement. All electricity isn't made from coal/non-renewables just because the US don't know how to manage their electricity production...many other countries can, so there, Tesla makes a lot more of an impact. Also, the batteries are recyclable and the car is made from more ecological materials, the factory is powered by (mostly?) renewables, as is Gigafactory and they try to get Superchargers to source power from renewables as much as possible.
