When I was in public school, I was in a portable for 2 years and both years got pneumonia. It was demolished a few years later for asbestos. I'm convinced it was the cause of it.

Asbestos doesn't cause pneumonia. Asbestosis and mesothelioma have symptoms that are similar to it, but you likely caught pneumonia because portables are typically damp and difficult to heat up

As someone that works in this industry, and have worked in this kind of environment, i can guarantee they're making a higher GP (gross profit) from the food than the drinks. Stands to reason they'd encourage a high turnover of tables to encourage dry (food) sales, and if they can pump them full of mimosas/bellinis to increase wet (booze) sales, that's just a bonus.
