I grew up in Texas, in the western part of the state, and it takes 8 hours to drive over to the western border. Playing Texas geoguessr sounds like hell 😂

Definitely. A lot of european countries are around the size of a state in the US, or much smaller. It's kinda bonkers how culturally and linguistically distinct each country is when they're all right next door to each other.

The walls are a Galway thing tho, or rather a Connacht thing. The closer you get to Galway the more you see walls that are just big stones piled on top of each other with nothing holding them in place but friction. It's actually an art.

Yo watching this video made me have to try it out, and naturally I went with aus! Each one surprisingly only took about 10 minutes! Except for the last one which was some random tip in the middle of nowhere, in the ACT. Like, even the one in WA took about a third of the time it took to figure that one out.... I even got one along the pacific highway and STILL found that far quicker than the one in ACT.

Tried the U.S.A. Geoguessr, and was immediately reminded that Iowa, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Illinois, southern Michigan/Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, and Minnesota, all of which are bigger than Ireland, are like 90% cornfields.

Don't forget the soybeans as well, those come along every couple years instead -- if only to replenish the nitrogen in the soil so they can plant more corn :3 Seriously though, if it wasn't for the 1000 year old stone walls and fences that cropped up here and there (and all the goddamn sheep like damn they really do have a lot of sheep) I could've easily put almost most of the rural locations the lads got into eastern Ohio/Kentucky. Uncanny.

I'm from Australia and went to South Korea in December 2019/Jan 2020. It really does feel weird being able to catch a train from one side of a country to another in less than three hours. And even watching shows from England and Ireland, it's hilarious hearing people talk about three hour journeys being "overnight trips".
