Really interesting stuff. A far cry from the old stuff I've been around, little Allis Chalmers B and smaller JD classic poppers

You can say that again, I run the finisher ahead of planter and seems so many times like I blink twice and I'm at the other end of field ! !

Northern farmer I watch KZbin and play games on my phone half miles are the shortest run we have on our farms with them all being laser leveled

Northern farmer we have a few that are a mile long runs but we farm east to west and most of our farms are over a mile and half long north to south

RTK is not needed for tillage. SF3/SF2 is good enough especially SF3 because that is within .2inches of RTK
@Northern_Farmer7 жыл бұрын
True..
@jessestuehrenberg53017 жыл бұрын
RTK is cheaper than SF3 and not much more than SF2. for the network I'm on anyway.....
@AndersonFarms7 жыл бұрын
Jesse Stuehrenberg SF3 is $800 a year i think.
@jessestuehrenberg53017 жыл бұрын
I thought sf3 was more than that. I pay $1600 per year for 2 RTK subscriptions. its $1000 for one and $1600 for 2 to unlimited receivers for the network I'm on.

There’s a group of farmers around us that have there own Rtk tower we run off of instead of going with John Deere’s towers and idk how much we pay to use the tower but I believe it’s cheaper then going jd

I have been a sub since you had lass than 5k (it may have had another name). It has been great to watch your channel grow Ryan. What's up with charging admission for Farm Day 2017? You get to demo equipment for free and a way of thanking subs is for us to buy a ticket to see your farm? I guess you will make it up to subs by selling hot dogs and soda. No thanks and good luck!

Around here the base signal rental is about $1,000 / yr on each unit. I drove the JD 8400 on a disk for a day last fall and really did miss the RTK.

Your drone looks like it needs some gimbal correction. In the settings for the drone you can change the gimbal to tilt one way or the other, it looks like yours is tilted way to the right! I had this happen to me when I was flying my drone and it made it so much better!!

We don't apply any anhydrous in the fall we do every bit of it in the spring or as sidedress all you have to do is wait 7-14 days before you plant

you should do a video on how you do the setup for each field. It would seem like it would take some time with all those strips

I don't see any reason why you would bother trying to explain anything green star unless you know the majority of your watchers use GS2/3. If your going to try to explain it than keep it simple because people are not going to understand it unless they have used it. Thanks
@mitcherman137 жыл бұрын
If you want don't understand GS2/3 then you can find other videos/pages that explain what it does. He is just showing how he is setting it up in his 8245, appeals to a lot of people who already use it or want to see it in action.

I can see how this system would help someone with multiple crops, multiple processes, and varied terrain. I wonder how much additional cost to the tractor you pay even when you wouldn't use this system say in 4000 acres of nothing but hay with few breaks or obstacles?
@Northern_Farmer7 жыл бұрын
You can use it in anything thought... not only the tractors... Here we use it for planting... windrowing for hay...and windrowing for harvest
@greggoesgaming7 жыл бұрын
46Rambo It is an extremely expensive system, the GS3 2630 display is about $6,000, reciever is about $4,000, and the activation is approximately $3,000. it's a very expensive system but can be very worth it, especially during applications where double coverage needs to be kept to a minimum due to high input costs.
@46rambo497 жыл бұрын
Greg Dowler, that is why I was asking I guess. Couple that with the fact a lot of smaller farms don't have new enough equipment that may be compatible with the system and it isn't feasible. it would take me quite awhile to recoup $10,000.

John Deere RTK is a joke. Their "sub inch accuracy" is nothing but a line of crap. I'm gonna change to Trimble as soon as I am able.
@Northern_Farmer7 жыл бұрын
I dont know which one to get yet... Heard things about trimble to that was not to pleasing
@austincampbell72437 жыл бұрын
Northern farmer in my area the repeatability of Deere is pretty poor. I've been of as much as 20 feet on row crop applications when returning to the same line I planted with. I also end up with wide and narrow rows on a regular basis. We run 12 row 40 inch equipment and I've measured rows being as close as 20 inches and as wide as 55 inches from through to through. We ran our Deere dealer through the wringer making sure it wasn't our tractors or implements. We've tried different Deere GPS systems and we still get random variances. It's annoying to say the least. Our neighbors that have Trimble don't have the problems like we do. I've even run their equipment and I like it. If you go Deere I wish you luck. I hope it works better for you. It is pretty user friendly and I like that.
@austincampbell72437 жыл бұрын
Northern farmer what have you heard about Trimble? I'd like to hear another opinion that isn't so close to home.
@gib8157 жыл бұрын
Sounds like it's not the a problem with the John Deere RTk, more like a operator not knowing how to set it up.
@austincampbell72437 жыл бұрын
JGM I know what I'm doing thanks. When everybody around here has the same problems with repeatability it's a problem with the equipment. Especially when I can go from my Deere tractor with Deere GPS to my buddies Deere tractor with Trimble GPS and have zero problems. The Trimble GPS was able to pull in perfectly zeroed on an old track from an A-B line snapped three years ago. Deere GPS will be off by at least 5 feet from the same line snapped 6 months ago. When you make 10 rounds just fine and all of the sudden you have a wide middle when nothing has been changed it's not an operator problem. Thanks for weighing in with your opinion though.

Does the 46 also have gps? I thought I saw the receiver on it's roof
