ആ ഭരണഘടന സ്ത്രീയോട് അയിത്തവും തൊട്ടുകൂടായ്മയും അനുവദിക്കില്ല എന്ന് തന്നെയാണ് സുപ്രിം കോടതി ഭരണഘടനയെ വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചത് .

Well spoken, Srichithran, you are n inspiration for this young generation who are ignorant of Kerala history. One possible reason is the lack of independant reading in malayalam. Revision of historical facts, which are not written in syllabus, is the need of the hour. Our children of present modern curriculum can't even pronounce the names like, Mannath Padmanabhan, Sri Narayana Guru, etc. Every convenience has n equal inconvenience.

At 11.40 - “The rights of Tribals and Dalits in temple were appropriated” - My previous comments are not to justify the Pandalam dynasty who had only given trouble to Ayyappan and their cronies Thazhamon Thanthris who knew very well that ooraayma of a temple can not be sold or assigned and yet did not object to it. Also Tranvancore Raja who really only had a mortgage on the Temple (since ooraayma can not be sold) and Dewaswam Board (who can not get a better title than the Tranvancore Raja from whom they took it over for the responsibility of management only) are also not the owners. As a measure of reconciliation and for the welfare of the Tribals, the temple should be handed over completely to the Tribals to be deemed as their property (since no specific owner can not be ascertained). Sreechithran is saying Tribals’ temple and temple rights were confiscated. Travancore Dewaswam Board (TDB) was formed in 1950. Marxists came to power many times after that. Why did not they make these private temples and hand them over to the rightful owners, Tribals and Dalits ? Part 1 - Hindus believe God in the form of cosmic spirit, which is all pervading. So we can worship God in any form or as formlessness. He is an Absolute Perfect Being (APB) without attributes (Nirguna Brahman), but you can worship APB in any form that you prefer, if it suits you (Saguna Brahman). The essence is your state of mind rather than the form. This substance over form can be understood by comparing the process with telephone. We identify the voice coming through phone as belonging to our dear ones (and the image of them rise before us) subliminally, but we do not identify the phone with our dear ones. Coming to specific temples, there is something called Kshetra Sankalpa while installing (and instilling spiritual energy into the idol) by highly ritualized Prathishta Karma. This Sankalpa decides a host of things. What identity the God will take, under what school should the various rituals be performed etc. Then the Deity is energized by the energy of Vedic Chants. So, the Sankalpa decides the identity and attributes of the APB in that form of Deity. Depending on the form preferred by the Owner of the temple (called Ooraalan among Kerala Brahmins), it will acquire attributes, preferences and the ritual retinue. Each Deity will have His / Her own characteristic temple structure and offerings pattern. The priests’ and devotees’ daily worship will form the spiritual aura of the temple. This is as far as I know. Going to temple, prayers, offerings - none of this is mandatory. Depending on your basic bend of personality, you can opt for one or more of the 4 ways (yogas) to seek self realization and spiritual quest with the aim of the liberation from the confines of ego (for want of a better word) to achieve the union of Athman with Brahman (the spark of divine soul inside you with the infinite cosmic soul) - Bhakthi - Devotion, Compassion & Living with a constant undercurrent of thoughts about God Dhyana - Knowledge, Introspction, Contemplation Karma - Duty, Service Raja - Transcending our Thoughts, Detachment. Most of us may be a hybrid with some aspect dominating. then we have choices ad libitum. Nothing binds you to any particular path, should your preferences change; and there could be considerable permeation. Normally, the 1st type is less exacting and more intuitive, and a visual form will help them focus - it can be any form as long as it inspires and helps you to channel your mind into divine. Mostly, Sankalpa in a temple and idol at home give a guide to focus. Sankalpa can be absurd since it is not God’s attribute but your attribution to suit your fancy and preference. The real ascetics go to forests and shun distraction. I think this covers most of the metaphysical aspects. APB is all permeating. He can reconstruct anything in His thoughts (and shun anything as well), without going anywhere. But I doubt whether He wants to, in his transcendental, unattached, abstract state. But the form of Deity Ayyappa can have Sankalpa - not his view, but the Owner’s view (if the Temple took form in accordance with ritualistic prescriptions). So Ayyappan being our fancy and creation, his imagery gets infected with those of original Sankalpa. So, Ayyappan does not have much choice to meander away to the forest murmurs, really. And who visits them or not is dictated by Sankalpa (now SC).

Since, I do not know who handed over the temple to Tiruvitancore Dewaswam Board (TDB). TDB thinks that Travancore Maharaja was the owner. But he had only banker's rights on advancing money. And he got much more than the moneys advanced. So, even TDB does not have any role, since they got, whatever rights they have, from Maharaja. I do not even know whether it was a temple that was established under the Prathishta Karma or Swayambhoo or an ancient Kaavu. Ayyappan himself has no Vedic origin, since Vedic period preceded Christ and Muslims came to India after 600 CE (Vavar, a Muslim contemporary of Ayyappan was a Muslim). It seems to be a composite temple in a forest land. Forest is under public ownership. Best to hand it back to Tribals and use the income for Tribal welfare. So, I had asked the following question earlier. No answer was forthcoming. Sabarimala temple may be a composite temple - You have concluded that the Sabarimala temple was attacked and taken over. Some of the evidences you have suggested are not beyond challenge. In all composite temples, especially the ones which were Kaavus, the poojas and rituals may not be regimented to start with and may have evolved. In many formal temples also, various people belonging to various castes had functions ascribed to them. And places like Vavar palli go even beyond this. Therefore the appearance of a name may not be conclusive evidence of ownership or subjugation in the case of composite and loosely structured temples which grew from a Kaavu form or from a Swayanbhoo form. As to the nature of offerings (meat, liquor etc) you adduced as other evidences, these are also in accordance with Shaktheya traditions authorised by Adharva Veda. Even Petta thullal which is the best evidence we can think of symbolizing the abandon, characteristic of the Tribal culture is also shared by Aghoris. Now, these observations take on more significance when we know that Ayyappa is a hunter (Deity with Shaiva characteristics also) and mingled freely with all cross section of people implying a relaxations in the strictest of worship rituals. To assert that the Sabarimala temple was attacked and taken over, may be a statement like Movies have killed village plays. Movies may have imbibed the characteristics and may resemble village plays in many respects, but that is only an influence of one on other but not a subjugation of one by other. Aryan style was also influenced by Dravidian style in many ways.

@@dr.challiyilvipin3249 Part 1 - First, we need to look at the severe limiting factors Shankara was working under. 1. The poor information dissemination system; 2. The straight jacket orthodoxy he was trying to reform, and 3. The antiquity, the values and lifestyle of that time period etc. 4. The task was demanding. He had to learn, travel, debate, put systems in place, write bhaashyams for the holy scriptures and separate and reconcile the structured religion from the personal and meditative religion. 5. He died at the age of 32. Part 2 - General Reforms - 1. Adi Shankara had renounced his privileged position and was probably the 1st person to travel far, wide and through dangerously inhospitable terrain. It is hard to imagine that he practiced ayithha and did not come into contact with people who were “drishtiyil pettalum doshamullor”. 2. He studied all available sources (even those of other religions and views) before discussing with them and winning them over - something even the modern day evangelists do not do. 3. He advocated against the rituals and religious practices, which was a path breaking step in the process of eliminating evil practices, sacrifices and factional feuds. He was the person who demolished the Mimamsa school that valued rituals above all. 4. He laid importance on soul searching, reasoning and learning, instead of blind worship - a true scientific spirit. It was through peaceful debates that he defeated Orthodox Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Carvakas. He won the crowning glory by setting reasoning, debating and evidences above all and not by miracles or might; he also did not seek State or outside institutional support (in fact, he probably was working against all established religions and practises at that time). 5. He codified, interpreted, summarised and made the scriptures lucid and also probably modified and adapted them to suit the present social system, if his detractors are to be believed. 6. All holy books have contradictions and revisions. He propagated Vedanta, Nirguna Brahma (Absolute Perfect Being) and Adhvaitha - all of which were wonderfully abstract and beclouded by lurking traditions and rituals at that time. This was a renaissance coming from within the religion, much before the much tooted Christian Reformation and Counter reformation 7. He was banished by his own orthodox Namboothiri community, a proof of his progressive views. 8. He used beautiful literary devices and techniques like Poetry, Imagery, an Inner Dialog form of writing, Polemics, and author surrogate by inserting himself as a character (but unlike Vatmiki and Vyasa who had also done so, Shankara paints himself as a prejudiced person who got reformed).

So, even the greatest pronouncement of the oneness of all beings, (the same cosmic spirit dwelling in each creature) attributed to his Guru (Shiva) is Shankara's own. Before the Digviaya of adi Sankara, there was no caste system in Kerala. Women wore chinese dresses and the world travellers couldn't see a single breast on the roads. Adi Sankara turns this down and kumarila batta and sambadhamoorthi nayanar follows and persecute all those monks and kills them like crucifixion called chithravadham. Then they abandon the temples as these were not of any business concern to the invasive Hindus. Again the local Dravidian tribes takes over and starts their own rituals for around 5 centuries until the Gupta dynasty decided to imbibe all the temples and religions into Hinduism. Ok now as to why sex is not done during menstrual period is because Women is already in pain and she would be weak and there would be no sexual desire for her , sex during this time would be a torture for the women but if you would want to have sex during those times you can, its like if you like walking in muddy water and if its ok for you to get wet with mud on your feet it is ok, you can wash it off after the act, it's as simple as that. One is ok for eating chicken but cannot think of eating cockroaches or snakes, "disgusting they say". For you its disgusting to have sex with a menstruating women, for others it may not be - relative in the sense. Coming into contact with menstrual blood may have medical concerns which I am not an authority to comment. Can you defend with reference that women is getting purified during menstruation and how purified she would be after menstruation than before. Is there a measure for it, if so please share it. Also all religious scriptures were written when little was known of the body and in large as a science what made sense then to the IQ of the one who thought about it became laws that should stand time. If you are to be strictly clean physically for your God you should be fasting for 72 hrs and remove all feces from your intestine to the level of having enema removing everything and then go worship God. After having a heavy meal the previous night and going to Shabirimala you are carrying lot of stool to saniddanam would that be that Holy for the God ? please think - What God has given in design is for him to live with let us not judge the Infinite with our finite wisdom

After 14.55 - Pathithar means those with pathithwam - it could be temporary or long term - it is subject to social norms and is even below smrithi. Ashtavaidyans had pathithwam since surgery training involved killing of animals. If a Brahmin lifts weapons there was pathithwam. Ih he crosses certain rivers, there was pathithwam. There were various situations necessitating ritual baths to cleanse before entering the temple. Pula, Vaalaayma etc were there as pathithwam. Newly wed, small children etc had restrictions. So, pathithars do not remain the same. It should be construed and modified in the context of the social norms and legal framework. And mostly these restraints are voluntary now. Similarly, temples should be left open to all bona fide devotees of whatever religion, caste, sex, gender, state of body or mind - since God is perfectly capable of accommodating all. S/he being an Absolutely Perfect Being, we can not offend Her / Him with our actions, nor can we please with our prayers. So why the fuss ? Thaanthra samuchhayam, and definition of Pathithwam should be read that way (like the many amendments to the original Constitution). It does not mean it has no value - like the parochial Sreechithran says. It has value for devotees in other valid aspects. Division by zero is undefined. That does not mean the mathematical operation of division is meaningless. No need to discredit a book or people while drumming up sentiments and sympathy.

After 14.55 - Sreechithran’s perception of Thanthra Samuchhayam vs Constitution - Indian constitution is still a work in progress; it probably has seen the most number of changes among all constitutions in the world. They were to accommodate measures of social justice, as an appeasement of lobbies, to get over Court judgments, as a compromise necessitated by coalition governments (a situation never envisaged by the makers of the Constitutiion) etc. And the Thanthri was not confronting or questioning the constitution (“Prathiyogi”), by placing an evidence asked by the SC. It was a question of resolution of the conflict of 2 Fundamental Rights, both contained in the Constitution. So, “Prathiyogi” aspect does not arise, you quarrel monger. The SC pronounced a right judgment in the matter. There it ends. No need to sensationalise, provoke, marginalise, hurry things, suppress on one hand, and challenge the law and order, whip up devotional frenzy, line up innocent people in front of police etc on the other. The issue will die a natural death and the judgment will prevail if you give time to settle down. Do not escalate and exploit the situation for Marxian ends of reviving class wars. The LLB student survived for about 7 years - with the experience she gained in managing and accommodating this issue, she can wait 6 months longer. They never mingled much with Tribals and Dalits, let alone confiscate their temples and assets. They lived several removes from reality. Your intention is just to label the Sabarimala unrest a creation of Savarnas, then call upon some fabricated “history” for help by assigning the same Marxian theory of class wars and promote the CPM agenda. Social disruption is the stock in trade of Marxists. If, like you say, “Pourohithyam” is causing the foolish Sabarimala agitation in the name of Devotees, Congress should not have been there to join in that. I am deliberately omitting BJP here, since you will say BJP is Pourohithyam (regardless of its Pan-India appeal, including in Tribal states).

by chance i came to see this talk and i cant support the views of this idiotic talker.. by talking on some "navodhanam" and citing some very rare accidental cases ,, these people are questioning some of the basic beliefs in hindusim .. shaking some of the fundamentalistic beliefs in any religion will never lead to its progress but only lead to its destruction .. for example why cant we imagine main god of christianity jesus christ as feminine instead of masculine and the main prophet of islam the same -- if thinking on the same lines of gender equality .. these concepts are utter rubbish and shame on any speaker who talks on the same line .. and to the question of the devotee who questions why cant she go to the temple during her troubled days ,, see,, these periods dont last more than 5-7 days usually ,, and during the other 25 days she is free to go to the temple to seek comfort & solace in any deity and if she is severely depressed during those 5-7 days ,, she can talk to her parents , teachers & friends who are "living gods ".. matha pitha guro daivam .. and for any true devotee just closing the eyes and meditating you can really talk to your god ,, be it a living room , school room or railway station .. shame on such idiotic people who pick up the hottest topic of the day "feminism" to create unrest in the whole society for their personal gain & attention seeking ...
