@@Northandleftabit btw do you know about the bike situations in Iran. Bikes above 250cc are not allowed. Overlanders are using lories to carry their bikes to the other borders.

Yep we know about it. We have decided to skip Iran because of it. Which is upsetting, but looks like there is no other option

I think both sound like great options, I backpackeed around South America and it won't disappoint. Then again in my opinion no where could beat the stans for motorbike riding, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan will blow your mind.

Have your guys only used your phones with sim cards or do you think a gps would be handy/better??

Hi mate sorry for the late reply. To be honest I havnt really used a gps but the sims worked just fine and allowed us to use multiple apps. Depending on the country Waze etc would be better.
