People were saying for vram intensive 2023 games, the 12GB 3060 is a better deal than all the gimped 8GB cards that will suffer from constant framerate drops due to vram overflow, but thanks to your benchmark they have been proven wrong. There might be some texture load issues now and then on the 8GB cards compared to the 3060 12GB but otherwise the issues right after release seem to have been fixed.

The problem is still there. The developers have shown they would rather optimize for the 14-15gb usable vram that both of the consoles provide. Also, the person who uploaded this video didn't benchmark anything in 4k. Which is where the Vram debacle started. A $400 card that can't even properly load 4k textures is a no no. Also, this is not a 1080p card. That is a lie to save face. A 1080p/1440p card would be under 300 easily.

If the GPU is not fast enough then it will have worse performance no matter how much VRAM it have.

@@Some-person-dot-dot-dot they also need to optimize for XSS which have 8gb usable memory for games which need to be used as RAM and VRAM. I wouldnt call 3060, 3060ti, 3070 and 3070ti more than 1440p GPUs now(3060 is barerly 1080p gpu) the are 3 years old at this point they are more than half of potential lifespan before you upgrade GPU because they begin to be to slow anyway. At least this is what i noticed that after 5 years you need to upgrade always because GPU start to be to slow for new games.

Having high res textures does NOT have any (meaningful) impact on fps, while improving visual quality a lot. It's the difference of using for 1-2 more gen vs throwing the card away. It's also better when doing graphical or ai/ml work. 8gb gddr6 only cost $25, but they're asking 4x more for the vram alone on 4060ti 16gb... Reviewers ought to make proper comparisons and test this out. Everything medium-high with high-ultra textures. But no, you will not get this from npcs, they are almost always running at max with the latest and greatest hardware and not what is pragmatic! Finding such reviews are rare. But does this sound anything new to you? Only when you are new of course.

Another example of stupid npcs running latest and greatest and not pointing out the flaw of the 4060 ti and 7600 is that it's running only 8 lanes. Those cards are aimed at peasant class. What do they run? Most likely not the latest and greatest heh...Probably pcie 3. Another failure not to disclose full and proper comparisons. Effectively, those cards run at 4x on pcie3, which what I've see can have up to 17% performance hit on the 1% lows. So much content nowadays, not much quality. What a clownworld it has become.

There's just something confusing with the 4060 TI. The fact that it manages to beat even a 3070 in Resident Evil 4 and Forza Horizon 5, few games it matches the 3070, the rest falls below it. I don't get it honestly. Driver updates cause that to happen or what? If it were to beat the 3070 in every single game, i could consider it, maybe. Still overpriced IMO, another $100 for the 16 gig version is insane.

Its a newer architecture, also look at the games where theres heavy vram usage or vram clock dependent thats where it works bad.

Thx for that test too, at first I was thinking I will def. buy the 3060 TI but after looking 3 test from you maybe more the 3070. And then I see this one with the 4060 TI and look at the wattage from the other both cards and the 4060 TI is nearly often 60-100W lower as these both cards and after looking here in germany the 4060 TI is even the lowest price from 430-460€. Now it is nearly at 99,9% clear that I will buy the 4060 TI^^.

First of all, english. Second, there's no way an old 5600g is beating an AM5 CPU with 3D cache. Hell even the 5800X3D which is AM4 would obliterate the 5600g.
