Hi Kryzzp, thanks for another interesting video! I have a 3070ti and just tried the game again on ultra settings and got a very similar fps at 4K, everything set to ultra apart from particle physics and tessellation. I wonder if for most people if any of these effects are worth the fps sacrifice, to be honest I couldn't tell the difference :)

Turning off soft shadows can help reduce the issue with Arthur's hair and the horse's tail. Soft shadows tend to create pixelated look and will go away when turned to off. This is how I prefer to set my graphics and doesn't affect any other type of visuals except it sharpens the regular shadows a little more. You can buy horse food in the general store. Look for oatmeal cakes. Or you can buy horse provisions from any stable. For God's sake, take care of Roach. He certainly deserves the nourishment from all the stunts you put him through. Great video.

Heyo, I'm also running a RTX 4070 Ti paired with an I7-8700k and 16gb of ram, playing at 1440p. Unfortunately my game is constantly stuttering, which I can also see from my frametime graph. It's spiky af while yours is relatively smooth. Graphics presets or switching to dx12 doesn't change anything. Am I running into some kind of bottleneck?

I always use dlss if it's available, the visual side effects are almost nonexistent, and at quality mode it gets better details than native.

I've noticed DLDSR with DLSS looks so good on this game. Native DLSS kinda looks too blurry but DLDSR fixes it. As others say Reflection MSAA is kind of worthless so I turn it off. It produces like 20 fps boost.

Hey Kryzzp, I'd recommend throwing the new DLSS 2.5.1 DLL into the game files. I've been using it at 1080p in this game specifically with my 3060 Ti and it looks way better than the previous version, this new version disables DLSS sharpening for all titles, so you may be interested in using image sharpening in control panel in conjunction, but even without it, it'll still look better than before.

Been watching your videos form the fist rdr2 video and you are mistreating roach here are some tips for you 1.) When Arthur and horse falls off the cliff or get splashed into ground you can right click and focus on your horse aproach it and then press B button for brush 2.) You can customise your horse in valantine and other places for better stamina, health and looks 3.) You can feed your horse the same you you brush it but rather than pressing B you have to press R to feed it Other than that i love you watching your videos ❤

You can use tool called "CRU" - (Custom Resolution Utiliy), and remove all 4096x2160 resolutions in extension block. Then You should see DSR scale correct 3840x2160. Thank You for the video :-)

It doesn't beat the 3090ti. It's 5% slower on average and at 4k the 3090ti pulls ahead quite a bit.

I think 4k gaming at 60 is really possible but gaming in 120 fps is challanges for new cards only 4090 can archive but for latest titilles or new upcoming titles it's better to save until new graphic card reach more then 120fps at 4k

In strawberry with Rtx 3060 ti, 1080p ultra preset I get considerable lower performance, from 70-80fps to lower 60s higher 50s with a bit of stuttering. Anyone know if I should worry? Gotta say I only tested online mode if that's the problem.

From what i've heard the game is a pig if you just set everything to ultra. Look up an optimized settings guide and you should be rocking 1440p mid 70's without the stuttering. If on a quad core CPU that may also be a factor.

idk about that... the game doesnt have 8k textures build in, only 4k and the diffrence between 4k and 8k is basiclly 0 exept when you have like a 160cm tv and sit 10cm infornt of it lol

​@@theplayerofus319the resolution isn't. But the accuracy of the rendering will be higher with higher resolution or scaling. Our vision isn't discrete (even though we also "sample" light using a finite amount of receptors), but sampling algorithms and textures and displays are. Easy test - place "subpixel" width hair on the white screen - you will clearly see it, try to render subpixel hair and will see randomly spaced pixels along that line (at best, depends on luck). So multisampling and more resolution will always give you more accurate results. And before you try to argue that light behaves IRL differently and it's easier to see the hair because light diffracts - yes, exactly. Games don't have that, so we need more resolution. And higher resolution also helps in the case of textures - colors and patterns will be sampled more accurately. Increasing the resolution of textures also will be beneficial for all the same reasons, also notice that even 4k texture could be mapped in a way that you would see a full screen (for example) of it, but only using part of it. E.g. looking directly at the ground, especially while zooming. In summary - there's always room for improvement, and not even that marginal.

3:23 hey Kryzzp i was also facing the Issue of screen tearing in almost every game with my GTX 1660 Ti but it was most visible in Red Dead, I tried enabling V sync but that only made things worse i have a Samsung 27" moniter which is 4k 60HZ and i tried many things to fix it, i suppose it has smth to do with playing on 60 fps on avg on a 60 Hz moniter, my fix was that i used DDU to remove all the intel/AMD/Nvidia drivers even tho i didnt have a intel nor a AMD GPU and reinstalled the Latest drivers (clean install). G'day Kryzzp & Digimoon, I bought 2 'new' GPUs this past week, the one I got yesterday a Gigabyte GTX960Extreme 4GB ($120AUD) I paid a bit much for but I really wanted it over similar ones available like an ASUS DC2 OC 2GB which I could have got for $90AUD, it was from an Ebay Shop in not far away in Sydney that offers 1 Month Warranty so I am happy. The other was my first Ebay purchase from overseas, it was a Zotac GTX560 AMP! Edition ( $58AUD Shipped) from Lithuania, it is also from an Ebay Shop & he provided Tracking at no extra cost. I can't be bothered to even try saving for a 4000 or 7000 GPU as I there is no way I am paying around $1500-$3000AUD for any of them

Honestly I'm upgrading for Starfield but I'm using RDR2 as a benchmark. The fact that it gets over 100 FPS on average at 1440p on an RTX 4070 Ti tells me that's what I should get. EDIT: Forgot to mention that's with DLSS. Obviously Starfield isn't gonna have that since Bethesda made a deal with AMD but even if Starfield locks at 60 FPS on an Nvidia card, it's still worth getting the 4070 Ti for other titles.
