The RTX 4080 is a decent card but the pricing is just not fair , 900$ would've also been acceptable.Its quite a bit slower than the 4090 but costs 1200$ MSRP still ,overall 20-30% faster than the 3090

The non reference models in Australia are on average $2500, I remember paying $1100 for the MSI 1080ti when it came out. Gpu pricing after the whole crypto/covid/chip shortage nonsense has been ridiculous, and I dont think things will ever go back to normal because the cards still sell regardless of the crazy prices. It's a shame

Yeah I tend to play the most popular games and what people request the most! The linear and single player titles that other KZbinrs cover are better to show comparisons with other cards as it's easier to recreate the benchmark runs. Well it's because competitive games run on almost any modern gpu at above 100fps. Thus, it makes more sense to run games where the gpu can actually struggle :)

Hey man, been subbed n following u for more than a whole yr, it's good to see someone testing GPUs for helping out gamers :)) Also, how do u manage to get so much fps, from usually some selective games outta some of the lower end cards that don't match the other hardware? When I try testing them, I get huge bottlenecks, and it heavily limits my fps, always.... I had to get a future proof and one of the highest end hardware, with all the components matching each others' lvls for the best graphics and better fps results lol

Look at the VRAM usage. I am so happy I returned a 3060ti I recently bought. I am pushing ultra 1440p and that consumes a lot of vram depending on the game!

4070 or 4080 for me, just waiting for AMD to launch so Nvidia will drop their prices (if they have even a bit of care for their customers left). That might seem a bit illogical, but Nvidia has 2 things going for them: Raytracing, and Cuda. Both of which I need, that's the only reason!

I think the bigger airliners and places like London are the most intensive in msfs 2022, maybe try using those for your next benchmark if they are more intensive

The price let's this card down a lot. 1.5x performance of RTX 3080 for almost 2x the price here in UK and EU. That's terrible generational release. Don't forget: 1080 MSRP was $599. 2080 MSRP was $699. 3080 MSRP was $699. Even counting for inflation, charging $1200 is ridiculous for an xx80 class card that's so far behind the $1600 4090

The 4080 probably is too expensive, considering AMD's $1K GPU will probably be quite a bit faster (though that's AMD's own benchmarks still), though it would be still better than the 7900XTX on RTX that some games have. Either way, I am glad Kryzzp is enjoying some quality time on this GPU🙂.

The RT implementation in FH5 is not the same as other games as it only applies ray tracing for your own vehicle, so your own vehicle parts get reflected properly but trees, bushes, sky etc. don’t get the RT treatment

Thanks to some benefits my employer provides, I was able to get a discount for my RTX 4080 and I bought it for 1100 EUR. I have the model Inno3D iChill X3 and I strongly recommend this model. It has spectacular cooling, decent RGB, lot of overclocking headroom which allows you to run at 3000 MHz stable and even during the maximum usage you can barely hear it. I would probably never buy any previous Inno3D models, because even though it always always the cheapest option on the market, it had terrible cooling, but this model is game changer.

THnx for the video, ur the one who can be trusted with the test! well lots of 3000 series vendors used same cooling package on 3070 that they used on 3080, so here we have the same, i believe IMO this card was designed for 2k 120-144, not 4k 60... for 4k u just add extra 300-400$ and get 4090. The price is over the top, 1000 would be sick. Make 2k tests pls. What was the temps on the hot spot and the memory, and fan rate was it silent or u just auto it? P.S. Using AIR COOLING with only 1 fan (is it 120?) on 5800x3d, mad man :)

I also want to add, as far as a price drop, it’s hard to tell. Last time something like this happened was when they birthed the 1080 ti I believe. So I think if AMD performs as expected, Nvidia will indeed lower their prices, not without backlash from people who have already bought a 4000 series gpu.
