I think another use case for this is people that would like to upgrade their CPU/RAM/Storage regularly but don't want to go through the hassle of getting a new motherboard, cpu, redoing all the wiring, cooling, etc. If I could upgrade every two years that entire side of my PC that's not the graphics card, I probably would. But I don't cause it's such a hassle you may as well build a new PC. And then I just wait like 4-5 years to upgrade. I love the idea of being able to just slot in an upgrade cpu/mobo/ram without the hassle of everything else. It also ensures I don't have a bunch of garbage big desktops laying around afterwards taking up a bunch of space. I can still re-use these old systems since they're still all in one mini-PCs that work for things like servers around my house or other workstation machines with old GPUs to do things like AI tasks or programming I don't want on my gaming rig. Personally I think they're a brilliant idea. I hope Beelink comes out with a PCI 5 model and better CPU. That'd be a dream for me personally.

I actually bought the same mini PC and a used rx 5700 xt. But I can’t get it to work. As soon as I plug in the GPU I can’t get any image in my display regardless if the hdmi cable is inside the mimi pc or in the GPU. If I remove the gpu then I can work only from the mini pc again. Very strange. Is there some process you follow when you switch to using the GPU?

You may have to go into the bios and force disable the igpu. I had to do it on my k8 and I have it running a 7800xt from a m.2 adapter. It was a pain, but that thing insane now. I use it for llm agents and pytorch.

Yes i have the same PC Gti 12 with a 7900gre. go ahead and powercycle 2-3 times it comes on. and make shure you power the dock on bevor you power on the pc. or unplug the gpu from the dock and set the pcie from igpu to auto mode. then it should be fine.
