The 4090 is still faster than a 5080 and has more VRAM which means it won't loose much of it's value if you bought one. That's kinda crazy to think about since the value of halo cards always crashed with the release of a new generation in the past.
@789uio6y16 сағат бұрын
Because nvidia doesn't shrink the node. Rtx 4080 vs rtx 5080 is only 15% difference, so 4080 also won't loose that much of a value, especially when rtx 5080 is selling way above the MSRP. Rtx 5070ti will only be 20% faster than 4070ti so it will be still slower than 4080. And Rtx 5070 is 20% faster than 4070, so it has the performance of 4070super, laughable generation.
@lcg-channel16 сағат бұрын
Yep. It looks like the 50-series is just scaling with core count, so 5080 has 11% more cores and probably 11% more raster performance and maybe a bit better than that for RT workloads. And it has some architectural improvements for AI (neural rendering and all that stuff) that might benefit gamers in 2 or 3 years when developers integrate those new features. By which time 60-series will have refined the technology further and hopefully moved to a new node giving a generational leap in performance.

@@EGH666 Yes I know that, little condescending in that reply but okay lol. The testing was reportedly done a month ago, so the final performance could be a hair higher. Take these benchmarks with a grain of salt, but if the numbers are anywhere close to accurate, then the 9070 XT is shaping up very nicely.

don't forget to include higher power consumption in your final evaluations...i guess its way closer to 20% real uplift in the end.
@thedeleted133714 сағат бұрын
power consumption literally does not matter for the tier of cards discussed in videos. If you cant pay the operational cost(which is extremely low) of having a high end PC you shouldnt have one.
@FentionX13 сағат бұрын
@@thedeleted1337 Sort of: You have to keep in mind, if you have enough cooling for it, a proper power consumption, and everythings running stable, you could also increase the calculation power of the other GPU this way. Meaning, if you adjust for that, you have "less reason" to buy a newer GPU, if a modder could also achieve part of that increase of performance difference on the older card. Most of the time, the GPU definitely won´t run with full TDP. But when speed difference ist mostly about f.e. higher clock, this additional performance gain isn´t really important for these people. And also a good amount of people want the newer cards because of their high performance, but less power drain for similar performance. BUT. Much of additional speed might be due to the increased core number. So it will most likely scale better than just upping the clock speed of the older card. But you have also to keep in mind: Most people wont necessarily buy 5090 or even 5080. Most people tend to buy xx60/xx70/xx70TI. They will on the other hand look at the power consumption, are more likely to undervolt and therefore have a tighter look at change in efficiency instead of "just" raw performance. Cannot say, if it´s good or bad. Players have to play with 4x frame generation and depending on if it feels good for them or not (if not), we will see if the raw computational performance difference has a positive or negative effect. It´s more like an outlook for the future. If i remember correctly, apart from the 5090, the other GPUs don´t have that big of a core difference compared to the older generation. Especially if you take the Super-cards into account instead of the non-Super ones.

I think the criticism's of the B570's CPU issues are really overstated. They are more of a caveat than a major flaw. If you are building new, you realistically will be getting something relatively modern. If you are upgrading a system that is actually that old that it matters, you probably will still see a good performance uplift over what ever old 200 GPU you had previously, and you should probably be upgrading your CPU in the near future anyway. That will make your CPU upgrade that much more noticeable when you actually do it. Maybe you can't afford the CPU upgrade right now, but you will eventually.
