AMD really needs to stop copying the Ngreedia Intel naming scheme. What's next RX 9090 RTX AI XTX Ultra 9 XT Super Radeon TI just confusing the crap out of buyers a lot of dumb naming products 🤣🤣🤣👎

Ugh, more naming changes.

4:00 I think it's because 8060S was using 4K resolution, while 8050S was using 1080p 🤔

7800 Xt performance at sub $400 is not enough it needs to be like $350 at best the 7800XT wasn't much better than the 7700 XT, and that was going for as low as $300 thats not moving the needle
@leafclover88919 минут бұрын
AMD be like: hey, we got 9070 first 😂
@ltmikepick11 минут бұрын
But you do understand that only creator resolution matters, right? The actual resolution could be 8k to 1k 8k to 2k and 8k to 4k while dlss just takes less dots and tries to make it to reference

They had to change the name scheme, CPU and GPU names were way too similar.

Either 8 or 9 RX series is a mobile GPU. can't tell which one yet really.... Such weird name scheme, they should just stick with same 6000/7000 naming scheme TBH
@skiper779531 минут бұрын
This is stupidest name ever. Intel is the only one that has gpu's with logical names. With this thing people will be just confused.

While a bold move, it seems very short-sighted. What will they do next gen? New naming again? Looks like a short-term gain attempt to put doubt in and confuse consumers.

I don't mind them changing the name to mimic Nvidia's: Nvidia is the market leader, may as well make it clear for consumers what product competes against NVidia's. HOWEVER: I just hope AMD's XX70 gpus compete with the xx70 gpus from nvidia. If the xx70 from amd is competing with the xx60 from Nvidia, there's no point >.>

AMD feels like it's doing one of those fake Nvidia cards you see on Wish. RX 9070 or GTX 970 or RTX 5070, like really?
@posmoo9790Сағат бұрын
This is fake. AMD would never name it 9070
@Monster-AbeeСағат бұрын
I like the name change. 9070XT sounds good and perfect for separating the CPUs.

I think you've missed the fact that the resolutions are different. 4k resolution for the 8060s and 1080p for the 8050s. Surely that makes a difference even in synthetic benchmarks right ?

9000 Series radeons already existed in early 2000 same as radeon 8500, so ofc instead of 9700 we have 9070. I had 9600Pro, good old times.

Y'all are missing something here The radeon 9800 is from the 2000s.

It's not weird that they jumped over the 8000 number, same goes for the CPUs, they jumped over the 8000 there too so it's only logical that they would do the same to GPU segment. Why you thought that it was "unexpected" is really beyond me, if anything it was the only way that made sense.
@zachb170634 минут бұрын

AMD is skipping the 8000 series for an interesting reason. The 9000 series is with RDN4, while there is currently no analogue released with RDN3.5 Strix ... A month ago I was explaining this to a friend somewhere, and he still didn't even understand what the difference is between the 700M* and 800M series... Another reason to skip the 8000 is that RDN3.5 doesn't work as well with GDDR as they want, but it definitely works well as an APU. As there is almost no difference in performance when using both types of memory. This is probably the main reason to switch to the 9000 with RDN4 or UDNA

I understand the idea of differentiating the naming scheme numbers between GPU and CPU, but I sorta hate the idea of them copying Nvidia
@hochhaul2 сағат бұрын
I would be willing to bet at least part of the change is for search engine optimization reasons. There have been many 9000 series Radeon cards in the past, plus AMD's current Ryzen 9000 lineup. There is obviously an additional psychological benefit to having cards with similar naming scheme but a bigger number.
@troyh92232 сағат бұрын
Amd just needs to add 10 to their product number over to whatever Nvidia makes and they're set.

I’m really glad that AMD decided to go with “70“ class branding for their card this gen. Although I guess since Nvidia charges $600 for a 70 class card now, that doesn’t mean much for pricing

Ah Grosbill, it has been a long time since I have heard of this store. (For context, a grosbill in French slang, is a player who seeks, through cheating or not, to make his character as powerful as possible, to the detriment of other aspects of the game. Based on a guy from a Dungeons and Dragons club in Paris in the 80s.)

A lot of comments that did not seem to watch the whole video 😅 it would be great when Nvidia launched high tier, AMD would steal the mid. Also now that i have 7800xt I'm loving my afmf2, i don't know if i want to give it up ever. It doubles my fps in basically any game.
