TSMC and memory makers haven't reduced costs. 5080 will probably have costs around 4080 super. And 5090 is double 5080 in a single card. Nvidia's operating principle from 700 series has pretty much multiplying its manufacturing costs by a same number to pay fixed costs and smaller profit margins than TSMC for consumer lineup. Currently margins for professional cards are so high, with so high AI volume that it's impossible to say what actual margins for Nvidia is today.

@@Uki2QT Nope. Nvidia sold same silicon even bigger numbers at 5000$ and still managed to average company profit under 30% early in its life cycle. Nvidia has fixed costs that are often equal to unit cost. And after Nvidia there are three companies before consumers and everyone slaps their fixed costs and profits until you get the retail price.

Zotac is so slippery with leaks, my fiance (GF) at the time works for a major printing company. They do boxes for PNY, Zotac, Sandisk memory, and a few other major tech brands. In 2017 around August they mass emailed her company the 1070Ti information and specs when none of that was out yet, it was just supposed to go to the art department so they could build/print the boxes. I could have easily leaked it as well. Also, ill slip this in here 😅 I have seen 2 5090 (photos only) which I wont mention here, but they are legitimate. Both pictures were from the side so I didn't get to see the 12vhpwr connector (1 or 2) but it will probably be 1 if i was to guess.

Some AIBs (maybe dependent on where you are) seem pretty relaxed about the way they handle sensitive or info under NDA. For one of my previous video card reviews, the card had just shown up at my doorstep the following day from the announcement. No email or notice from the AIB until a few days later with the NDA agreement. I could have easily leaked it as I wasn't "officially" under NDA as I hadn't signed anything 😂. I think I've got a fairly good idea on which 5090s you might have seen ;). Thanks for watching man!

If you said that the 4060 is only a bit faster than the 3060, that would be true, but if you think that the 5090 is only gonna be 5.9% faster than the 4090, you don't know Nvidia. Sure., the power consumption and price are going to be high, but 28 or 32 GB of VRAM vs 24? 21,760 CUDA cores capable of boosting to 3GHz on the 5090 vs 16,384 CUDA cores capable of boosting to 2.52GHz on the 4090? That is going to be a huge increase.

If the rumors are true that the 5070 is on par with the 4070 Ti (non-"SUPER"), for $100 more than the 4070 launched at (which launched at $600), then it's going to be another skip generation. It means the 4070 Ti is going to remain the same, price-wise, because it offers the same performance as a 5070. 😐 I can't wait to skip it. Again. I will stay on 1070 until the wheels fall off. Especially since at this point I'm going to need a new CPU (which means new motherboard, new RAM, new M.2 storage...). They didn't cater to me in the previous generations because of crypto shit, so I didn't upgrade. My next GPU is going to be Intel, I think. Nvidia doesn't deserve a single cent for ripping people off with their 1-2 tier shifting BS they pulled with the 4000 cards. Tier shifting which looks like they're gonna do again! Because a node jump from 5nm to 3nm shouldn't result in a 5070 competing with a 4070Ti!!! 😠 It means they shifted tiers again. Disgusting. What you're getting now as "5080" should have been called "5060" if they didn't downshift tiers by 1-2 places for 2 generations straight.

Corsair has really great customer service. 2 months ago i had a rma i did for a 3080 from zotac i sent mine out to get looked at i used to ask questions they wouldnt answer i would have to keep sending questions just for them to answer, and they would take mutiple days just to answer and when i first got a card back it didnt work they told me it was unluckily a card sent back would have the same problem as one that was sent in so i send it back and then they sent a working one i had to both times pay to ship out this company Corsair, when I asked them questions, they responded back the first day, and when I asked more questions, they responded quick, and they also paid for the label, and I received a working RMA back the first time. I never had any problem with their PSU. I have used their 650m since like 2015, and it still works.

Now, it might be true that the CPU bottlenecks affecting gamers already where the best CPU on the market 7800X3D is still a bottleneck for the 4090 so the 5090 might not actually see the preferred uplift until CPUs get their shit together. And the 5070/5060 will be a god awful deal but each individually will still all have more marketshare than the entire 7000 series if the 4060ti 16gb (worst selling model of the 40 series for good reason) having more users than every single 7000 gpu combined is something to go by.

But what i dont understand, they still use one connecter for the 5090 and teh card can pull easily beyond 600w im sure, but the connector has a limit of 600w, so how does that make any sense ? im sure there will be alot of problems again with burning connectors and stuff

After the GTX 1080 series and RX 580 and Radeon VII cards, I have found all new gpu releases boring. The RTX 5090 is coming out? Wow. How interesting. A card I wont even consider buying. I bought a 7800XT and got a ton of performance for it, and I barely care about that. I now just play games at max settings, but that doesnt even matter. Probably wont be upgrading until Im forced too. The RTX 4000 series seems like it just dropped yesterday, but even then I didnt care. The wifes RTX 3070 plays all her games just as well as it ever did - and the card is boring. The only PC product that was even the tiniest bit interesting to me was the X3D CPUs, and even then it doesnt feel like it did when the Phenom 2 hexcores or the Athlon 64 dual cores released. Zen 1 was exciting. Intel 10nm+++++++++++++ has been boring since kaby lake. I not only am going to skip out on the RTX 5000 series, I probably wont even buy RTX 6000 series either. Im not going to 4k from 1440p. I do play 4k when my computer is hooked up to my TV, and Ive got good performance on that now with an X3d CPU and A 7800Xt. Heck even the 1080TI is still putting in the work these days.

Nice video, I will be good with my 4090 for years to come. I had a feeling when I pulled the trigger back in November 2022, that the next gen cards would use a higher TPD and have higher price tag along with it (the reason, I purchased) coming from a 2080 super. I will see, if prices and specifications for the 6000 series, and see if it still worth it to upgrade. Maybe AMD will have high end graphic cards by then. Edit: I Had to edit a word or two I missed.

I bought a Zotac 4090. My first Zotac video card purchase ever. It's been alright, I can see it doesn't have the same build quality as an Asus Strix etc but if it continues to work for a couple of generations then it will be fine.

I have the 4090 from zotac since release date luckily at 1599 before the price increase. It has been flawless and couldn’t be happy. Strix would be better but I wouldn’t pay extra 600 for one. Would likely keep till 6000 series or 7000 seires

I'm using 5900x cpu with a zotac 980ti (bought in 2016) and have only repasted once. It hasn't failed me so far and I don't play the latest slop anyway. I'm looking to upgrade to a 5090 and maybe all new mobo/cpu. 😇 I notice that the top end Nvidia card 4090 didn't really drop in price or go under msrp if at all. I expect a repeat for the 5090 so I might buy day 1 instead of expecting any decent price drops down the line.

I own a 4090 and 4080 Super. I'll take the large 3 & 4 slot coolers that keep the cards cool over smaller coolers like on the 3080 & 3090 that ran HOT. OEM companies like Dell etc probably want smaller 2 slot cards and don't care if the cards run hot. I hope the 5000 cards run cool like the 4000 cards do.

5070 = 4070S, so maybe the 5070TI that is launching will be powerfull as a 4080? upside is that you could upgrade the vram of the 5000 series card. if you do that, it should last you half a generation if thats your final card.
