I have a msi wf76 with a rtxa2000 & 11800h I wish I had opted for more GPU, thermal throttling is much more of an issue with the msi than the thinkpad P line but I wasn't expecting this much heat.

100% - actually switched from the MSI WS Series for this exact issue - horrible thermals and poor warranty.

They are not.

i got the a5000 11850 4k and added all the ram and ssds i could, its fantastic so far. 66% off list on ebay with 3 years lenovo warranty remaining. it crashed a lot and made bad fan noises till i updated all windows, firmware, used a device driver updater then its been fine. very fast renders. if you use a lot of 3dsmax, photoshop, blender, for example, id recommend it.

I just bought a Lenovo P15 Gen 2 laptop and need to upgrade my diskspace as I only have a 512GB storage. Could you provide me with the SSD details for me to order

You’ll want to target any Gen 4 NVME SSD. Good price/performance I’d say crucial. amzn.to/40K9LFo For the fastest, I’d pick amzn.to/40Cm7jk - better firmware than the Samsungs.

Kindly recommend any laptop for me. To be used for serious 3D modelling, video editing, rendering,... I'd like something affordable. I don't mind a second-hand either. Thanks for your anticipated help

I would look for any P53’s or P71’s, or any of the P1 Series, Gen 1-3

if you want used and lot for your money get a P thinkpad like suggested, another option is a mid tier gamer machine; if you prefer new and "relatively" cheap as example I have a Gigabyte (made by clevo) G5 kc 15.6 I use a lot because I care less about using it on jobs and it's more portable than my 17" msi and P17 thinkpad, it's got a gtx3060 and a i5 10500h with 16GB or DDR4 (upgraded mine to 2x16 for 130$) and it's currently on sale at around 1100$ you can add a nvme (2x m.2 slots) + one sata, should compensate for the small stock 500gb nvme... Anyway just a use case many love the Asus ROG's (much rendering power for "cheap") too but i'm not convinced by their reliability.

as a creator, mostly working with 3d visualizing softwares, should I go with RTX 3050/3050ti OR RTX A3000? Also what's the major difference between A3000 and RTX 3050?
@mostirreverent Жыл бұрын
I’m not positive but it seems like the 2000 3000 are more of the Quadra family rather than the GeForce (3050) family. the 3050 is more for gaming rather than CAD, I believe

Honestly they RTX Series are superior, but lack ISV Certification from the big vendors.
