Thanks David for the shout out, I'm Mark's brother Vista. The layout looks great a lot of good detail. Yes indeed I understand the health problems I haven't been the same since 2012 due to a work related injury. Anyway, be safe looking forward to the next videos...

Oh my bad, lol my memory is not so good. I appreciate all the kind comments brother. The layout still needs a lot of work but it's been a fun ride for sure. I'm sorry to hear about your injury, I hope you can heal and take care my friend.

Very good. What did you use for your highway roads
@ruatrainman23 жыл бұрын
Hello, I have several video's on my roads and parking lots, I always use the same product. It's called Silly Winks, or color foam. Check out my 2020 Diorama build series for details. Thank you, - Dave B.

Wow, I'm impressed with the overall look. You have a lot going on in a small space. The industrial scene is top notch. I agree with the Gritty look, after all it is that way in the real world!

Hello and thank you for your comments. It took quite a while to come up with that track plan but I think it gives me the most switching in the space I had available. All my current layout projects are Industrial lol, I think I have an addiction. ;) - Dave B.

you really nailed the urban-gritty-industrial aspect, very reminiscent of Bill Denton's Kingsbury layout. The fact that not all of the buildings are rectangular just adds to the realism of the whole thing, Kuddos

Thank you so much Rick, that is an amazing comment. I love Bills work and in particular the Kingsbury branch layout he built. To be compared to Bills work is the best compliment I could have ever been given. - Dave B.

Thanks so much Dave. My layout is freelance, but interchange with the S.P.&S., NP and GN. Even some SI and MILW. In my new N layout I want to have a large urban/harbor section with tight complex switching that I really have the room for to do it justice. Seattle's harbor rail
@JohnMullerJDGCTRy3 жыл бұрын
Seattle's harbor rail of the 60s so tight and convoluted it will make for very interesting ops. Take care, be safe and have fun.
@ruatrainman23 жыл бұрын
@@JohnMullerJDGCTRy That sounds so exciting, If I could go back and re-do my Milwaukee port layout, I'd do it in N scale as well. I had to down scale so many cool aspects of the actual Seattle area, like the run up apron to the car ferry, and the fact that the tracks should have been perpendicular to the sound with sharp curved fingers going onto the docks but I just didn't have that space. You should have a way better layout and some awesome switching fun. I wanted to model BN's VanAsselt's yard and have patched NP and CB&Q and SP&S stuff too, that would have been really neat. Take care buddy. - Dave B.

@@ruatrainman2 Dave like you l just didn't have the room to do it right with all the complexes and industries with their hairy leeds and street running. I'm getting really jazzed up about it. I need to do a lot of planning and research to get it the way I want it. 🚂🏬🏭

i like to do the same thing. out to the shed, turn on some 70's music and run the trains. I have a really bad singing voice but when it is only me and the trains,, just plain old relax time.

The best way yo model in my opinion, of course oldies used to be 50's when most of modeling was in the works. That makes me want to go out and model now lol, thank you Sparky, you're a cool dude. Dave B.

Hey Dave! The layout looks really good! Looking forward to the grass application. Should look awesome. Is the shelf layout HO or N? - Brian
@ruatrainman23 жыл бұрын
Yeah I love that grass applicator, just have to get the colors right, but it works great, can't wait to weed up the Milwaukee Layout. 2 of the 3 shelf layouts are N scale, and one is HO. I have a better video coming out tomorrow that describes the plans and what's going on. Thank you for your kinds comments brother. - Dave B.
