You didn't let me down. I totally understand cause I'm the same way. I would have been really ticked off with those decals too.

I was upset because I had successfully matched those stickers to a couple models before, but this time they just looked terrible. I thank you very much for your support, and hopefully a better set of Oak Harbor trailers will be in my near future. - Dave B.

Hey David. I love your work. It's amazing, and well done. Have you thought of getting an airbrush? I know they are a fuss to get used to. But I see what you are doing art. I bet an airbrush in your hands would be something I would love to see.

Hi Vincent, thank you for the kind words. Yes I have several airbrushes and use them for fine jobs or small jobs. I don't film it much because it takes a long time to set up and clean them, but I do use them, perhaps a showcase on me using one could be something I'd do in the near future.

That silver sharpie did a real nice job. Looks like a lot of the trucks I’ve seen out here. It is too bad the sticker wasn’t the size of the trailer or bigger so it looked like the real thing.

Yes I love the silver sharpie for just that reason, it makes the striping process so quick and with little to no mess, that is if I have a steady hand that day lol. Yes if the stickers were slightly larger than the trailers I could cut them down and there'd be no problem, but it is what it is. Thank you for your kind comments, - Dave B.

Hey David! Well it looks pretty good to me.... Maybe you can "hide" that trailer on your layout somewhere but I bet from a few feet away it looks pretty good! I understand your concern about how the weathering might look. Thanks for sharing as I always enjoy your builds. - Brian

Hey Brian, thank you buddy, yeah some day I'll get some decals and make a couple better trailers for it, but it's not that big of a deal right now. I've got so much going on to worry about it. I think I'll just leave it alone and move on. I always appreciate your kind comments friend. - Dave B.

Hey David, I use those sharpies also and they work great. I've bought several sticker sets from G on D and I ran into the same problem with my FedEx Ground doubles. I weathered the trailers and yup, those sticker lines came alive. I am disappointed but unfortunately they're the only game in town that make certain trucking companies. I have one more set from them it's Miller beer my next project. I'm not tech savvy so to make my own water slide decals, not happening. I have thought about contacting Microscale to see if they can start expanding their line of trucking decals. As of now they are very limited. I know you're disappointed and frustrated but I think it turned out great. I have friends that work for Oak Harbor and they loved it...😉

Hey friend, thank you for your kind words and sentiment. I'm sorry to hear about your FedEx doubles. I do have some information on a good company that makes custom decals without to much hassle or $$, it's Switchline Decals, there's an option to request custom decals if you provide a little information and a couple photos for reference, he'll make them for you and the set's run about $10 each. I've already contacted him about the Oak Harbor decals, so we'll see what comes of it. Thank you very much for your support, and for sharing my work, also tell your friends thank you as well. Take care, - Dave B.

@@ruatrainman2 Thanks for info, I'm definitely going to check them out. $10 is about the going price give or take. Can't wait for your update on the decals...

That tractor looks good, I think the mistakes make it look more realistic. I agree, I dont like the lines even with decals. Drives me nuts! Where did you find a kit for that truck?
@ruatrainman23 жыл бұрын
Thank you bud, it's still okay but not one of tmy favorite builds. Later on down the line I will build a couple better trailers to add to the truck it's self which I think turned out pretty good. The truck is a Boley/Walthers scene master, the airdam is from A-line, as is the wheels and tires. The trailer is from Rail Power Products, and the stickers are from Graphics On Demand. No kit, I had to buy everything separate, in all I think I have around $63 into this build, not including paint and glue, so it's one of my cheaper trucks.

Great paint job it's to bad about your stickers not turning out,could you not take those stickers and copy them onto decal paper and make your own decals ?
@ruatrainman23 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I did contact a friend of mine who owns a decal company to custom order the decals, but I might just start investing in a printer that can handle decal paper, we'll see, -Dave B.
