Dang I missed it but listening to the replay. Like the setup for them seems very simple to make. Thinking of doing bioactive for a frog terrarium.

How do you control fungus gnats? I just a bought dwarf white isopod culture and it appears to have fungus gnats. Also, I have two planted glass terrariums for chameleons, and they have fungus gnats as well. I just ordered some springtails to add to all three.

Kiernan Robinson springtails will help, as their population grows, they will compete directly with the fungus gnats. I also use the sticky fly ribbons...they do not contain pesticides, and they attract fungus gnats very well. I have been experimenting with mosquito bits. I soak a few them in water and add the water to a millipede enclosure. So far, weekly applications seem to make a big difference, but I haven’t tested it with many different species yet.

How soon will they begin to breed? Is it difficult to get them to reproduce?

If they are comfortable and mature, usually you’ll begin to see reproduction within 2-3 months, if not sooner. It is easy to get them to breed if they are doing well…they just have small broods.
