These repair buttoms work unbelieveably well. I have repaired several remotes that are no longer available and they were brought back to life in no time. I would not be without them now and I'm getting ready to order more. Great products.

I just repaired 2 Hunter ceiling fan remotes. I'd previously repaired one using the conductive paint. It worked well for over a year until in the middle of the night the light kept gradually going on and off by itself. I opened the remote and the conductive paint had come off the button and was laying on the contacts for the light. So far both remotes are working like new again. this saved me over $50 each for replacement transmitters.

I am working on a dishwasher. And basically the buttons on the control pad were stuck making contact. I separated the strip, and was able to bend the buttons get them to stop making contact. When I receive your product. Do I need to eliminate the old buttons altogether? Or put the new contact between the old button and the contact point?
@p1repair Жыл бұрын
Most dishwashers I have seen are membrane keypads and not rubber keypads. ButtonWorx will work in some membrane keypad designs that use a forked type contact pad and a solid dot top conductor. If the design uses a design with one leg on the bottom and the other on the top then adding anything between will block one or the other. If you can contact me through my web site with photos I should be able to help more.

I have a weird problem with my casio fx -991w calculator. After the calculator is switched on, none of the buttons work and after sometime, pressing Ans buttons displays syn error. If the calculator is left in sun for a 15 minutes, the buttons start working again an the calculator functions normally. Initially, after the calculator is on, none of the buttons work. There may have water or moisture which entered the calculator through buttons. Does opening the calculator and cleaning the keypad help? Since there may have been a short circuit inside the calculator, the battery may have drained which is why it only works after there is lot of sun for about 15 minutes. Thanks for looking.
@p1repair3 жыл бұрын
I don't have any experience with calculators, but this sounds like a solar calculator maybe with a dead battery?? Have you changed the battery? That might be the only problem. If the keys work OK after 15 min in the sun then I doubt it's a button problem. Much more likely a power problem.
@amitm11573 жыл бұрын
Yes, I did change the battery after it had rust.The problem persists even now. I suspect it is due to mosture or humidity in a damp environment or a short circuit and perhaps capacitance build up in the calculator or any Electromagnetic field whcih is affecting the battery usage. I think the operative environment is bad.I will try to check if it will work properly in a air conditioned room. Something had altered power management in the calculator. The calculator doesnt need solar power from sun on the solar panel . It needs sun on the back. I am not really sure about the technical reason yet. I hope I learn something from this.
@amitm11573 жыл бұрын
An update: The buttons are working after powering on the calculator if I keep the back of the calculator on a metal surface for a few minutes instead of keeping it in sun. If I remove the calculaotor from a metal surface, the buttons stop working after 5-10 minutes.

could you simply use a greylead pencil on the old rubber contact to create a conductive layer
@p1repair Жыл бұрын
It's a temporary fix that will not last and can build up between the forked contacts, creating a short. Conductive paint is terrible because it doesn't stick. Guaranteed to flake off and short out buttons, pencil lead has even less reason to stay put.

how much do you charge to make and send me a copy of a vtech model cs6919 series?
@rsmath18 жыл бұрын
i'd have to call crap on the first instance that is like my tv controller. How does this stick-on button not short out the multiple contacts for each button on the store scanner machine meaning each button you put a conductive sticker on would be always-on and thus drain the battery? The underside pad on the rubber keypad hovers over the contacts until you press the button to make the circuit connection so I'd think you'd try to want to get these adhesive stickers to stick on the rubber button underside so it will hover over the contacts until you press the button.
@p1repair8 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean. There are different sized buttons. If you put a large button repair on a small button then you could short out other buttons or worse (other exposed metal connections). The buttons are never always on because there is a spacer holding the conductive part above the circuit board. The original rubber button has to push down on the repair part to activate it. Unfortunately nothing sticks to rubber keypads for long. I have been working on phone repair for almost 30 years and tried everything. There is no paint, glue or sticker that permanently sticks to silicone rubber. We would get phones back for warranty all the time because of button repair failure. That is why I eventually came up with this.
@rsmath18 жыл бұрын
i was referring to a single button (and not adjacent buttons) and if there is a spacer, that will work as you don't want the conductive surface to always be touching the contacts until the rubber button is touched. i may try this kit when the remote control I just fixed fails again in about a year (I use the conductive paint method on my remotes and it lasts about a year per application).
@richardgifford34565 жыл бұрын
Hi, can I order some of these from you? I agree about the other methods, they are just temporary repairs, yours is the only permanent repair.

.....No luck.. didn't use it for 10 years...Panasonic Remote N2QAGB000002, I just sprayed some Rubbing Alcohol and later sprayed and washed the Circuit board with Rubbing alcohol and Contact Cleaner. ONLY the Power button on the Remote is working now. What could be wrong?
@p1repair3 жыл бұрын
Only the power button working makes it unlikely the buttons are failing. Failing buttons are usually only the heavily used buttons. When all or most buttons stop working (even the ones you rarely use) then it suggests something more serious. I assume the power button is one of the most used buttons so should have failed first, not be the only working button.

My 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee key fob's door lock and unlock buttons always required a very hard press. Today they just wouldn't work. I cleaned the rubber buttons and circuit board with 91 % isopropyl alcohol. Now it's good as new. Update: The lock and unlock buttons are failing again after only 2 days (the batteries are new). I ordered the button repair kit from p1repair through Amazon and should have it by tomorrow. I'll update this post after I install and test it.
