WOW! what a beautiful plane. and thank you! this was also a nice "how to trim" video ---- appreciate. i'm big fan of the old school slab-side look. and this is just beautiful

What a stunning model after you persevered through the tricky start...it looks just about dialled by the last flight. Well done Josh!

I know that for contests it's pure free-flight, but I fly sport only and always have an R/C rudder assist to prevent long walks and trees. No de-thermalizer necessary, hard rudder spins it down. Thanks for the vid.

Beautiful model, beautiful flight. Rubber powered oldtimers are amazing.

What intrigues me is the plane's narrow wing...great lift & effective at such a small scale! Another very educational trip session, Joshua.

Oh, dear. I enjoy this, and I envy your home environment. In Sweden we have snow, coldness, and the sun shows up an hour a week. Just like that, but the ants, sleeps deeply. What was the real problem in the begin? Too strong motor? Too large propeller pitch? It was very nerveous then, but behaves very beautiful at the later shows. The plane is a pretty girl, and wants more. Dear corona-hugs, from an old swede.

Thank you for a very enjoyable video. That model is a thing of beauty. I could never see myself risking flying it beside those trees like you do. You are the man! Like the R/C DT system. I will have to try that whenever I finally get my larger rubber models finished. Did you ever use those strong magnets for holding the nose block in place? Like the ones used on R/C models to hold down canopies and hatches?

Thank you! Moffetts are very fast and thus rather sensitive in trim, but they hold quite well once trimmed, and the adjustments are pretty intuitive.

can you make a f-18 super hornet chuck glider its so hard for me to make one and design one

Nice flying Moffet..if I were still able to fly I would build it for sure..gee how this old man misses flying Freeflight and competing ..what d/t system are you using and where can one purchase it...thanks for sharing always enjoy your videos...hope to see Remoffett fly again!

Craig, this DT is just a receiver hooked up to a servo. Since I'm using a Taranis radio, I got a frsky receiver and can run the whole thing on a 1s lipo like what is used on the Horizon umx planes.

I'm allergic to ant bites, so I'm very wary. When they fly each year, I have to stay shut inside. I am really glad we don't have fire ants here!

Maybe you can shed some light to what im doing wrong. Im new to building, and attempting to fly these. I dont think ive yet to see one fly. Basically in most cases they all just seem to climb up and then drop on the tail, or nose dive. I thought once i got a better motor id see better results but i think they actually got worse! Now i get lengthy prop spins, but zero power. The stock blue rubber band in the guillows kit was better, itd atleast pull the planes. Btw, love your channel, maybe ill try one of your kits next. Currently attempting a couple of the easy built models kits. But any tips? Id love to see one of these fly, by my own accords! Closest was yesterday... but still ended up stuck nose 1st in the mud! Plane survived a hard hit. That was the 1st plane i built, a really old berkleys kit my dad mailed me. Came out well, i put a cox 049 on it, it started off flying nice but i think a gust of wind made it bank hard left and nose dive.

Do you find that trimming out the zoom stall is harder to do the better the glide angle of the plane?
@joshuawfinn3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the plane. This one is a bit picky. Some are less so.
@Strattonlad19463 жыл бұрын
You need a tracker in that little dude!
@joshuawfinn3 жыл бұрын
Correction: I need a tracker that works. Mine doesn't. Out of three Walston setups I have yet to get one that works.

only been watching rubber power for a month or 2. this looks like a longer fuselage than typical. does the length of the fuselage dictate the amount of power you can get out of a rubber motor......longer fuselage, longer rubber, more turns, more power.
@joshuawfinn Жыл бұрын
Looks are deceiving in this case. The fat fuselage, for satisfying the fuselage cross section rule, looks big but is actually about the normal length for an endurance plane. A lot of folks thing shorter fuselages are better but they aren't as they limit pitch damping and rubber capacity.
