But even then I think some characters in the roster are past that. We've got a fair few reality warpers I'd expect to see people in YT comments arguing over who would win in a fight, whereas technically if Sans fought Bill Cipher the same way he fought the player and Chara, he'd be utterly screwed (dude would obviously come with gear for the job and a good plan though)

Komeda is not lucky, he is karma. This is why he loses to Ingo. How komeda immortality works is that if the person he is fighting is an evil aligned character, he cannot lose due to negative karma of evil misdeeds ruining his opponent's attacks. Ingo is not evil, so the negative karma effect does not work, causing Komeda to lose.

I know everyone's talking about Ingo winning 3rd, but personally, I'm really proud of Bill for scoring 4th! Personally, I would've imagined that if Bill saw his opponent was Sans, he would've decided it'd be funnier if Sans won and just went off to party. Plus, I imagine Bill was absolutely excited to win (power trip and all, considering the previous rounds with him), but then he might've realized he was getting tired of the fangirls, and didn't want to deal with getting them back in the case of him winning. Hence when he saw Sans, he'd just be like, "Here, let me leave you all with this guy instead!"
