I saw Rueben years ago leaving the Atlanta airport after he had lost weight. He was so nice to everyone who stopped him but I didn’t want to bother him because I felt he had been bothered enough. Very proud of him being from my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama.

Yes, she didn't hide her anger or disappointment regarding a disagreement they must of had before the show. I definitely noticed the gap of their seating and the no eye-contact she didn't give Ruben. No judging, but when all eyes are on your super star husband, you leave all feelings behind the scene and give him the love and attention he deserves at that moment. Ruben even tried to touch/rub her back and I thought she would've moved closer to him that moment. Prayers to them going forward....

We should be able to take pride in the black family without comments asking why not black and white (couple). Black families have been destroyed, separated, lost, and broken due to the mental and physical effects of slavery, etc. So although there is nothing wrong with black and white as you mentioned, society consistently sends a message that white is better. You are your own example, because you didn't say any other ethnicity to be open minded, but went straight to white asking "whats wrong with black and white?" (like forget about any other culture, white is the only/main one to consider so to speak). Many things in White America have led to the destruction of black families specifically, and so much history with the black and whites due to slavery, jim crow, segregation, and still sadly today the black families are impacted from the traumas, social,economic division, and struggles etc that resulted from a lot of these things..I hope this makes sense to you. This black man is married and in the home with his black wife and showing this example to their black children. It's nothing wrong with that either. It's sad, but this is not always the norm for black families. I am personally rejoicing in this family here. Anyone that truly understands the history of the black family in White America, and the present day effects on the black man, black woman, their children and family will also understand why. God made us all the same, but until man gets that in his heart, mind, and soul and there is no more discrimination, disparities, or destroying of the (black) family, culture, etc then we can have the true unity God intended. 🙏

I'm originally from Birmingham Alabama and graduated from Huffman high school I saw her was that her on American Idol in Birmingham Alabama was very proud of him my mother Still Luther as an educator.
