Just did the same trip about 3 weeks ago. So much fun camped at spider lake. 5 Jeeps in and 5 Jeeps out no problems. Took a couple Rc crawlers in Element Enduro, SCX10 II and SCX24.

I do miss El Dorado County, I grew up there, only did the Rubicon once when a buddy invited me to go for Rubithon '09. I never had a full size rig of my own to go on the Rubicon but was happy to ride along with a friend.

I miss that region, Josh. 😞 I grew up all around that area. Early 70's as a child on Beale AFB, late 70's in Rancho Cordova... Graduated from Folsom High School in 1982. Several of my custom rigs are 13-13.50” wheelbase. For a 1.9 that’s about as long as I’ll go for performance. I have a 15.5” wheelbase 1.9 also but it will never perform well.

Basically, the Ultra has Portals and the Pro is straight axles. There are some differences inside the trans but nothing that changes the driving.

Rod ends is about all. I broke an axle shaft once when I was playing “RC SOCCER” and got a banner all wrapped up in the wheel. I run 4s on a 3100kv brushless, so it’s a huge amount of power.

@@HarleyDesignsInc Kinda what I figured, I use to be big on portal axles but after building my element rc theres really nothing the portal axles rigs can do that the straight axles rigs can't, plus if anything it helps having a little lower cog. Im leaning towards a vs4-10 pro just need to save a bit more. all these toys add up quickly .. Thanks
