I'm a registered nurse. There is nothing that I've done in my life that is more fulfilling, and, that is more healing- for me - more than my patients!! Doing this takes me out of my own selfish wants, needs and desires. And my experience as a nurse is right on point to what Jordan is talking about. I became a nurse to make a living, not to be praised as a wonderful person. But despite my own selfishness, my purpose is no longer the money but knowing I'm helping others get through another brutal day in this brutal life!! Deciding to be responsible for another person's well being is a powerful way out of chaos. Thank you Dave and thank you Dr. Peterson for reminding me how I'm supposed to live.

Jordan Peterson is a moral basket-case. He believes that anything that seems to have to do with the Bible is good, without question. He is a psychologist, but can't see the Evil Skeletor inside Netanyahu? I met Bibi many times when I worked at the UN in the 1980s, and he came across to me as a lying psychopath. Why didn't Jordan pick up on that, with all his training? Because Jordan has his head up the Bible's ass, and anything that seems to be associated with the Bible is good. I know it is coming sooner than I want. That said, I hope I will be able to transition some of that focus on other things. I get reminded when I listen to Jordan that "those other things" are not me. As a once misinformed and misguided female adolescent I was almost rendered completely hopeless after being fed poison; whether it was through social media, toxic family upbringing, teachers, and so on. His clear and concise way of putting things and passionate expertise really struck me. To see someone get emotional at times talking about the struggles young men face in modern society, or going down the fallout of having a devouring mother (which was a story very close to home), all felt like the hug I so desperately needed to not feel so alone in this world. His voice is a voice for hope in these times. Truly, sir, I know you may never see this- but thank you. I am so grateful I made it through to the other side.

It took years and the help of an advanced fraternity brother to open my eyes about the human personality, another 10 years to forgive my parents. As a believer in karma and reincarnation, I understood the rationale for the emotional struggles. Big changes dont occur unless something big prompts them. I actually joined the army during Viet Nam War to escape my bad life and I came out mature, calm, motivated. My life continued to be a series of shocks, tests, disappointments, but I discovered the world of Spirit, studied metaphysics, found my own understanding of God and life. Personal relationships were not in my life plan so I remained alone, intellectual and wondering, observing people more than relating to them. I wish there was a way to destil all the wisdom (presented here by Jordan) from the Bible and other scriptures and get rid of the poisonous baggage in them. This very video contains a plan, as do many others of his videos and books! It's just that people don't want what is really a rather simple solution: Do the hard work of living right yourself, and then help those around you, especially your children, learn to live better lives. It's just like with our physical health when something goes wrong. When they go to the doctor for a health problem, most people just want the doctor to give them pills to alleviate the pain or discomfort of the symptoms. They don't want to be told to do the hard work of eating more healthfully, exercising, getting more and better sleep, taking measures to alleviate or lessen the stressors in their life, etc. Taking a pill is easy. Changing your lifestyle is hard work! We'd rather get back to our devices, distractions, and our leisure time activities. @@aleksandarlikic7460

@@Eirenmist I agree with everything you are saying. If you read my message more carefully, I am talking about a plan on how to explain to people that the Bible is not the ultimate guide for healthy and happy living. Jordan is promoting it as if it was. I don't deny that the Bible does have this message in it (that everyone should carry their cross/responsibility on their shoulders and that's what ultimately brings fulfillment and happiness), perhaps not as clear and direct as we can articulate it today (after all it was written so long ago), but the Bible also carries a lot of baggage that is demonstrably harmful. Jordan is selling it as a package and I think it's going to muddy his otherwise altruistic effort to help people. I wish there was a way for people to understand that their favourite scriptures were just the pinnacles of wisdom at the times they were written, and that in the meantime we learned so much more about the world and about us. I don't know what's the solution. Maybe an open source project that would distil messages from all kind of scriptures, normalize/canonize them, present them in easy to understand statements without allegories, double meanings, etc, instead of every preacher in the world doing the same in a way they see fit in a given moment. Jordan included.

From the culture war, race, identity, religion, the 20% spike in trans youth, absurd environmental policies, the weaponisation of science, overtly corrupt politics and economic disaster. All manufactured in coalescing catastrophy. This is what needs to be understood by all. So we may all cease to be infected by all the propaganda, distractions and senseless, egovdriven, tribalistic bickering over nothing at all of actual consequence. If you ever see inside of his house , I think it was on “The rise of Jordan Peterson” docu. He has paintings and art all over his house and he did that to specifically study them. They are like life size paintings. He is as serious as it gets.

It starts by learning to set the table and from there learn the lay of the land. In this case the ladder. Yes, a metaphor however change has to begin in each of us. Too bad it can't be regulated. Cannot be imposed. Break down what is manufacturing the hatred and it seems it 's the malignant and malevolent narcissism of individuals who (without interest in the lay of the land/ others} group together like cancerous cells, that organize themselves into tissues and organs and take on a lifeforms of their own beliefs called culture. J. Peterson is telling us in the most kind of ways to examine the speck of dust of weaponization in our own eyes first. Let that grow into responsible Beings starting in our homes, towns ,cities, states and countries. Then we can possibly be effective influencing what we call "out there" or "others". Sounds trivial, lacks grandiosity and no instant gratification but it's the message of the ages. Vow to become a person of non-violence in both mind and heart. This is the real sacrifice, burden of responsibility to bear in order to make the ascent so many of us hope for our Earth... 'On Earth as it is in Heaven ' is quantum physics. Phew!

12 Rules for Life changed my life about 5 years ago. I was at the rock bottom of my life, trying to become someone I didn't really want to be, and Jordan Peterson save me through his book. I felt every single word on that book. It was painful to read, but it saved me. Now I'm about to marry the woman of my life, bought my own apartment and I'm doing great on my work life. I will be forever thankful to you, Jordan.

@@ronjon5241 JP is a fake intellectual, I am a real intellectual since I realize that Identity is the proper union of faith and responsibility. It does that in a hierarchical subsidiary manner, if you have conflict, you need a counter position, that is subsidiary structure. Jacob's ladder, the vine that unites the material and proximal realm of the earth with the eternal realm of heaven, how do we climb it, there is a vision of how we build ourselves, a glorious macro-vision; it is the proximal beginnings, we scaffold ourselves upward from the finite to the infinite, the scaffold constitutes our identity...also that you think so that your stupid thoughts can die instead of you. At the upper end of a hierarchy, you find people who know a lot, if you are stupid, smart people won't listen to you, so you can inform yourself with tools and you won't be an embarrassment, the careless self-evident axiom of human social interaction is that if I can force you to do something then I have the right to do it.

Unfortunately, Doctor Peterson doesn’t manage to touch those who make plans in order to subdue everybody else, Us! That Elite of the super powerful doesn’t even care about the speeches of the Petersons of this here and now. How an we keep our identity when the a Higher source of Power is willing to change our identity as individuals and as citizens, with the agreement of our governments, before elected by us now betrayed by them. This is much more than a cultural war. This is survival! I better stop here…

Wow, that was more emotional and motivational than I had expected. Jorden gets it, and it's time we (in the west) got on board before it's too late.

If you told me a speech about responsibility would bring me to the edge of tears I’d have thought you were crazy. Jordan really paints an important and beautiful picture here.
