If life gives you lemon make lemonade Mato you are a wise man I never forget your story that you told in the video of the game between you and Spassky when you was playing karate then you had an accident that changed your life when you read a chess book in the hospital So you advised everyone to be positive This story makes a huge influence in my life

Amazing! Very deep indeed, it seemed that Alekhine with each move threw bread crumbles to Rubinstein guiding him to the horrors of his losing position. Thanks Mato!

I found Bg6. This is probably because Mato said it was an incredible move, so I found a positionally thematic idea to expose black's king by attacking the light squares. Without the hint I may not have found it.

Alekhines joke to a hotel manager. " One day a young girl came to the hotel where myself and Capablanca were staying. She boasted she was invincible. Capa and i both laughed, but decided to test her. To our utter amazement she was unbeatable with either white pieces or the black pieces and won every game!! "What happened to her"? asked the manager, Alekhine replied . . . . "We killed her off course"!!

Alekhine was an extraordinary player. And Mato is a special commentator. Looking at these amazing games just underlines, if it needs underlining, the lack of . . . of, the paucity of imagination and depth in my own play. Still, you don't have to be Roger Federer to enjoy watching Roger Federer. By the same token, you don't have to be a genius, or even a strong player - which I'm not - to enjoy the games of Alekhine, Fischer, Tal, Kasparov, Karpov, Capablanca, Petrosian, Spassky - showing my age - or more recent players such as Carlsen, Anand etcetera. Especially when they are illuminated by a guide like Mato.
