What i heard from people working on the line is they have been instructed to try and complete till Nalban Metro station before year end as metro wants to capture the winter crowd to Nalban Nicco park. And then by March next year it will get connected to Sector 5 with green line.

They are many such stations. Taratala and sakher bazar are 1 km away from the respective crossing. The sector 5 metro station is entirely located outside the sector 5 (Salt Lake CK block to be precise)

Metro was running smoothly, i was kezually allowed on vip bazar metro station like usual. 2) bad news 1 is personal, i missed chance to take pic while crossing box girder, then i reached station but train left to ritwik ghatak by then 3) workers say though it looks all is ok, it will take 6 months to open,

Ahh good all fine but no clearance can be issued. Bro didn't hesitate. He says like metro crosses track on a bit far from Hemanta Mukhopadhyay by switching at crossover to go back to kavi subhash, crs told to construct additional 90-metre viaduct beyond Beleghata station limit for signal overlap and Foot Over Bridge (FOB) to enable commuters cross the busy bypass to enter Beleghata station safely. As metro viaduct over Chingrighata is not being made very soon, sit back and wait next year as minimum tagore park box Bridge making time will be taken if Kolkata police gave permission just now

Beliaghata station is situated in an awkward position. Not much accessible from any direction. This should have been built much closer to Chingrighata junction, which is indeed more associated with Beliaghata and much more easily accessible. It will be difficult to reach the current Beliaghata station from any side and with the crazy traffic on the bypass, it may cause frequent accidents and jams if people start rushing there. The problem is, the planners never travelled on foot here or have any idea of local topography or how people commute here.

after 15 years, not even half of the line is ready... anyways, if they run it seriously instead of like a toy train, the stretch from New Garia to Beleghata will find many commuters.. however this is Kolkata metro and I doubt if they can run even with 10 minute frequency.. as long as the state leaves all the critical metro work in the hands of railways instead of forming JV's with the centre (like in EVERY other Indian states), we will be stuck with rubbish local trains like these...

Necessary diversion of road, extra widening of the road, new road bridge have been constructed by RVNL (Rail Vikash Nigam Ltd) and proper illumination has also been done as per the requirement of traffic department to address the issue of movement of vehicular traffic during the block, but the traffic police authorities are yet to issue necessary NOC. RVNL authorities wrote letters to the Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic Department on January 5, March 12 and 14 requesting him to provide NOC for the traffic block. Another letter had also been sent to the Commissioner of Kolkata Police on February 6 requesting him to provide NOC for traffic diversion to construct one span, middle support at the median of EM Bypass for the foot over bridge at Beleghata station, the spokesperson said.
