Ever wondered what a ruby supreme guava looks like? Well, here it is. What is looks like, taste review and growing tips!. Remember: guava plants in general have shallow, fibrous roots. These plants have a hard time up-taking water from the soil. You will need to water these plants frequently. It's not the amount of water you give these plants but the frequency that matters!. Extremely hard to over-water. I've never killed one from over-watering. (That should tell you something). Patreon: patreon.com/QCTropicals (Exclusive perks!)

I just purchased one two days ago and it is still in the same pot. Did you repot it right away? Put it in a semi shady area? My yard is nearly all sun and I’m trying to create micro climates for things like this.

I have the red guava the scent is contagious once you touch it. Though it’s not the sweet. The giant Thai guava is my favorite because it’s crunchy and sun ripened sweeter than anything I can describe

I put my guavas in rubber maid 45 gallon containers from Lowes and I drill a hole on side on the container about three inches above the ground, any excess water in the container will drop out of the hole, my guavas are full sun, since the water maintains the soil constantly moist, I only water my guavas once a week, I heavy mulch, I'm in Fresno CA we're summers are 105 degree average from May to Oct, I haven't had a problem with sun burn, don't drill hole of the container drill them 2 or three in chest above ground, and only one hole really as long as it's big about a dime in size.

I live in Arizona and I am basically from Pakistan. I tried different types of Guavas in the US, but they are not even close to what we have in Pakistan. Specially in the northern Pakistan there is a city called Kohat. Its guavas are sweet as honey and its aroma is so strong that as soon as you bring it home, you can smell it at every corner of your home.

I live in Northern California and have seen several guava trees in my neighborhood, growing without irrigation throughout the summer. However, they tend to be mostly the small Mexican type. I want to plant the Ruby Supreme or Red Malaysian in an area of my yard that will get watered but not irrigated as intensely as you suggest. Do you think it will do okay? We do get some hot dry summers but the other trees tend to do okay.

I just cut open my 1st Ruby S. Guava and the color was nice and red -- but the taste was not -- I squeezed it a bit and it was somewhat soft, it was almost Softball in size.
