The only times a driver must stop is at a zebra crossing, or if a pedestrian has already started to cross (at a junction) after they have clearly seen it is safe to do so. But yeah, if you see a kid in this situation, you should be more than ready for them to just run out.

Once a pedestrian steps one foot on the Zebra crossing they have right of way, the police who came to our school did teach us to wait until vehicles actually stopped. The lane he moved to was ahead or left, but if you listen closely at 4:02 you can hear the horn from the Audi when the camcar cut in front of him. Then when the traffic moved off, he sat there stationary for 3 seconds leaving a massive gap in front of him before moving off, at which point the now pissed off Audi behind him is blasting his horn and undertaking him for being a nob. The camcar is totally at fault here. 1. don't swerve into lanes cutting up other traffic , 2. if you want to use the overtaking lane of a 2 lane section, get your toe down when the road opens up, don't just sit there f... ing about with your phone, angering everyone behind you who wants to get a wiggle on.

Of course filtering is allowed on single carriageway roads, It's UK not the USA.

I may be wrong about filtering on a single carriageway (will link my source if I find it), but one thing for sure is that the Highway Code says to only filter when it is safe to do so, and it's pretty obvious that it's not safe in those circumstances. Yes the car pulled out, but they have to go at some point, and they pulled out slowly. If the motorcycle was being ridden with consideration of the surroundings (i.e. queuing traffic) it would have been a non-event. I hope they were OK, but at the end of the day it was an accident and both parties contributed to it.

@@godofcycling I used to commute by bicycle and fix peoples bikes for a living. People can be cyclists or sympathetic to cyclists, whilst also criticising bad cyclists who have a stick up their butt. Those things aren't mutually exclusive. 😂

3:09 aggressive idiots like this are one reason cyclists use cameras. I know it's easy to say with hindsight, but shouting 'you're on camera' and reading the vehicle number plate out loud can often work wonders in calming a situation down. I hope this was reported. That driver should be prosecuted for assault, along with a charge of dangerous driving.
