Just in case you don’t know, on the church calendar the 12 days of Christmas begin on Christmas Day and go through January 5, which is the day before the feast of the Epiphany. December 25 through January 5 is the actual Christmas season in the Roman Catholic and other churches. The previous four weeks are called Advent, which is a time of spiritual preparation for Christmas. I thoroughly enjoyed this video, as well as most of the ones that you post!

Try to spend one Christmas here in the southern hemisphere, try this different approach to the holidays. 🥰 No cold, no snow, no freezing and no loneliness because people gather on the beaches, it’s the beginning of summer vacation. It’s truly festive! 🎄 Bonus point: because it’s summer, you leave the church after evening Advent/Christmas holy messes and prayers, and there is still sunlight and, so, plenty of time to gather with your family and friends to dinner, chat and fun! 🎉🍾

Ruby, please consider filming a video about the Christmas presents you will get. I really missed it last year and this year for your birthday. Those videos are such an inspiration! There's a lot of wonderful ideas on what to buy for someone or what I would like for myself, and you're always so happy and grateful. And it's a great insight into what you yourself like, since they are gifted by the people who know you best. I don't know if you ever receive negative comments accusing you of bragging, but I don't think that anyone who watches your videos would think that. If making those videos is uncomfortable, then no worries. I will watch whatever you make 😂 But I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who truly enjoys these videos❤

It's so wonderful to know that I'm not the only one who loves rainy, wintry weather! September - December is my favourite time of year, but it goes far too quickly! Ruby, have you read The Christmas Mystery by Jostein Gaarder? it's absolutely beautiful and it is to be read like an advent calendar, here's the blurb: "Fifty years ago a girl disappeared from her home in Norway. She ran after a lamb and found herself travelling right across Europe to Palestine, and back through 2000 years to meet the Holy Family in Bethlehem. There she met angels, shepherds, wise men and other biblical characters who joined her on her pilgrimage; and she heard of many of the things that happened in the world in the last 2000 years. In present-day Norway, a boy acquires a strange old Advent calendar. Hidden in each of the windows is a tiny piece of paper. Little by little these pieces unfold the girl's story and as we learn what happened to her, another story is revealed - that of the strange old man who made the calender". It's enchanting and I think you would love it!

You'll find matches a lot easier to use if you draw them towards your body when striking instead of pushing them away
@HectorDelapoerberesfordАй бұрын
I was literally just thinking the same thing 😂
@clarewoosley8376Ай бұрын
That seems much more dangerous than pushing them away. I would never do it.
@JakeBlake-vc3twАй бұрын
@clarewoosley8376 I know it sounds more dangerous but it is actually the safer way to do it because if you lost grip of the match it will fall towards you which makes it much quicker to extinguish than if it fires off into the room/objects. It's also because if you strike away most people hold the match at the weakest point so it is more likely to snap. Technically the safest way is to hold the box vertical and strike down but it is a bit harder to do
@HectorDelapoerberesfordАй бұрын
@clarewoosley8376 It does seem counterintuitive in terms of safety but in the army they always advised us that striking towards yourself is the advised method in safety terms too; striking away is actually quite dangerous in case you lose control of the match at the point it ignites
@clarewoosley8376Ай бұрын
@@JakeBlake-vc3tw Thanks for the information. I’m going to start trying to strike down with the box held vertically.

Your video creates such a pleasant and positive mood! Today, December 1, is my birthday, plus the beginning of winter, plus the first Sunday of Advent, plus, as I said, your nice video is just a joy! Over the past week, we have had air raids again every day, the Russian occupiers have used phosphorus munitions against the civilians of our city of Sumy (this is prohibited by the Geneva Convention). As a result, a car service station and a residential apartment burned down, and two civilians died. Usually the situation in our city is kept silent, but last week even the president of Ukraine mentioned the crimes committed by Russia against the civilians of our city. As always, we are holding on. Thank you for the wonderful atmosphere of waiting for the world, which you have created and with which you operate, and greetings from Ukraine! By the way, do you know that the music in your video from 13 minutes 51 seconds is the music of the Ukrainian composer Leontovych from his work "Shchedryk"?

Collected Ghost stories - M. R. James. I can’t remember the exact title but M. R. James told the stories to entertain scholars and friends on Christmas Eve when he served as provost at Cambridge University and Eton College during the early 20th century. They were later published as collections of short stories. I would say they are creepy and atmospheric but I wasn’t scared out of my wits!
