Because 50 people per minute want a photo. He can only warn so many. So usually the ones in danger from the horse hurting himself. He hopes the horse hurts the tourists to teach them a lesson , as they are warned and cannot sue

@colinpayne2081 Question. Have you seen the videos when the senior troopers who aren't afraid of doing the duty take control from the moment they get in that box. They immediately look and point and say "out" and people look at him and scoot out of the box the next one's come up and look at the line to make sure they don't touch the line, they take their picture and move on. People don't challenge because the trooper commands authority. He's not saying, please. But the next hour, there goes the rules. Today, a family of kids came up and started a free for all, just petting the head of the horse for about 5 minutes, then everyone started mauling. Soon, the trooper came out and said NO more touching because as soon as he walked away, someone stepped in the box, and he told them out and pointed at the line. Then it was clear. I prefer that to people laughing and taking advantage of the trooper.

This guard perform duty, in a very very responsible way, so devoted, and his eyes observe more than one could notice... He looks closely, and far, and all around the compound. He is good hearted, I could see how he treats his horse, with gentle pat on its back, especially after moments of difficulty, when horse is troubled and restless...He does not express anger at the horse, I am sure because he understands the poor animal, standing for long time, either under hot sun, or in the rain... Also both guard and horse have to bear all the loud voices of the crowd, and sounds of traffic, from the road, so close by... This guard bless his soul 💙🙏

These guards need to get their act together and tell people to get out the box . They're not doing it. The nix was put there to stop people from getting too close to the horses and the guards. So the guards need to tell people to keep out off the box.

People have such little understanding on what the Kings guards are able to do. Because these on duty soldiers have been given strict instructions from their commanding officer about protocol while on duty they can only ask the public to MOVE, any other interaction with the public can result in a 200 pound fine so some soldiers prefer to say nothing. Having official rules carried out according to the trooper's own discretion made the whole system break down by confusing and contradictory implementation. I love this black family! The guard seemed to like them too. I love this moment when a little black girl in a pink jacket comes up for a photo and the guard pulled the horse gently right away to make sure that the horse didn't scare the girl. This guard is a real treasure💖💖

I love the comment police here. Guys, it is not a rule, if it was one, they've had 2/3 weeks to get new signs created whilst they been doing the works. They probably can't (or have yet to get agreement) as it is a public walkway. The lines are there as a deterrent. Each guard will act differently with them, this guard chooses to not let people get too close to the horse, hence the shout. The lines are working, they have given the troopers (human and horses) more space to breathe. Also, the Boxman will know these horses, some are more sociable than others.

Look it up people.The side walk is London city property.The Horse Guards MOD only owns the property 12 inches (1 foot) from the box foundation bricks.The horse standing outside the box full length is on city property. There are some very rude remarks on here today regarding the troopers, and their lack of shouting at tourists. None of us know what orders these troopers have been given, they are in the armed forces and therefore have to follow orders. It's frustrating watching the tourists take over again and I had to stop watching yesterday out of pure frustration. All I can say is STOP insulting the troopers and switch off if you are unhappy.
