I know what u mean!! I’m from Bristol in the uk and if I’d ever even tried to speak to my mum or dad like that I’d b dead in about 5 seconds flat! The sad thing is no matter where in the world we are all from years ago we were bought up by our parents to respect our elders, and our parents, we were taught to keep our bedrooms clean and tidy as well as helping around the whole house too, but sadly today’s kids seem to be spoilt and parents seem to let them walk the streets with groups of mates and they think they are in some tough gang and that they are gangsters! They cause trouble with the police and carry knives attacking other people especially if they’ve got rude to another person and that person has tried to defend themselves the disrespectful “child” then attacks them and stabs them to death!! It’s absolutely crazy these days, seriously though I was born in the 80’s I just turned 40 yesterday and if I would of tried to give my parents and back chat especially my mum she would of knocked me into next week!! I learnt at a young age not to just fear God but to fear my parents! And what’s even worse now a days is it’s against the law for parents to give there child a slap when they’ve been naughty! Like seriously it’s stupid it didn’t do me any harm, yet the stupid government (who all may have gone to posh expensive schools and have loads of qualifications and be smart, but none of them have one ounce of common sense!!) they don’t even realise that since they changed the law so parents can’t give there own children a slap that the crime rate for teenagers and young adults have sky rocketed, not just stealing cars and breaking into other people’s homes, but also violent crimes and even murder in some cases, if one of my kids spoke to me like this I would literally lose my shit at them, and I DON’T let my kids go out walking around because sadly kids and boredom equals trouble, anyway, God Bless to u all, xxxx Kate 🇬🇧 xxxx

I’ve been bullied for having low quality shoes (getting called poor or weird for the shoes not having a logo on it) (kids screaming “what are those”) but that’s no excuse to be a bad person and bully your parents. What happened even after I got nice shoes once after I told them what kids would say about me is that guys would step on them on the bus on purpose and rub mud on them. So I prefer cheap shoes no one likes. Tbh I hate shoe culture because of how much pressure people put on it, like I personally don’t care what shoes other people wear The people with expensive shoes are just wasteful with money. 20-40 dollars is what I’d spend for myself for shoes in a year.

I mean, 100$ pair of shoes are pretty cheap if we're talking about basketball shoes, which are the most common type of shoe you see people wear. Usually I spend at most 150 and I wear them for a year or two.

Same. I'm usually happy with a $20 pair.

Same here. I was raised to have more respect than that, and to be grateful when others are doing nice things for me. Especially, when it comes to my family members. Don't get me wrong, everyone has had their moments of being a spoiled brat since no one is perfect . But, at least most people and I have learned from those experiences. Also, as for what I would do if I witnessed this type of situation I would stay out of it since it's none of my business since I don't know them and I don't have kids; Plus, I don't want to get attacked either physically or emotionally. So, it's better to walk away without saying anything in this case. But, at the same time I'd feel sorry for the kid's parents and annoyed at the kid. If I were personally involved though, I'd tell him he should respect his family members and be grateful that his mom is buying him new shoes and him asking for expensive ones is unreasonable when they're living on a budget. If he wants them that badly, he should earn the money by getting a part time job after school if he's old enough, or doing housework for an allowance and saving up for the things he wants. Then, he might learn the value of a dollar. I understand how he feels as well. I get that teens want the latest styles in order to fit in and I was there once, but it's not always possible to be able to afford it; And people can still look good in less expensive clothes. Also, true friends like you for who you are not what you have . It sounds corny, but it's true. Also, I started out being annoyed with the kid's behavior but then when I heard that his parents were getting divorced I started feeling sorry for him, because he's obviously hurting because of that and he's probably just acting up because he doesn't know how to handle his emotions properly. I know that this is just a skit, and in real life it's not always obvious that there's something wrong underneath the surface; But, I couldn't help reacting that way since I'm sensitive.
