it's considered Rude to use your phone in restaurants, please remember this.
@samd747610 жыл бұрын
When you're with other people or the waiter or waitress is talking to you yes but when you're with no one and not bothering anyone talking quietly it's fine. One thing that I can't stand is when a family of 5 sit down they order their meals and just stay on their phones the whole time; they barely even talk to each other. They don't keep it alive. Now that's rude.

I feel your pain- I worked at Home Depot. This woman was chatting on her phone the entire time I was ringing her up. She left, comes back 5 minutes later and makes a scene because SHE picked out the wrong moulding, and I didn't read her mind and point this out to her. I also carried a conversation with this man for about 10 seconds before I realized he was talking to his damn bluetooth. We can only hope that they walk into the path of a bus, oblivious until the end.

One time at a restaurant similar to this in Washington State, a woman brought two young children with her to breakfast. One of the children started screaming to the top of it's lungs, and I about came outta my skin! I wanted to complain but a table of elderly people went over and asked the woman to take the baby outside! LOL not only did the mother of that screaming child refuse to leave, she told all of us to BACK OFF! LOL

@SianJosette12 жыл бұрын
It is really annoying when someone is constantly waffling on at the top of their voices on their mobile, while you are trying to enjoy a meal and quiet chat with family/friends. Years ago while dining out, a guy was asked very politely by fellow diners to keep his voice down (he was literally shouting into his phone) he not only became rude in response but continued to make another call and carried on. He was asked to leave before his food came, to the applause of several people.

Good comment, people on their cellphones talk conspicuously LOUDLY. And for the people who don't talk but love to TEXT on their phones during movies; don't think the constant flashes from your phone down the row to the left of me went unnoticed last night. Yea, it really added something to the movie Lincoln for me. Annoying.

I worked at a restuarant and guests were always on their cellphone while I was trying to do my work and take their orders. I would have to wait til they were done and by that time, I would be sat too many tables and they'd have to wait longer. If their concern is finishing a conversation that's fine, I don't think it's rude to me or to others as I understand people need to take calls but don't expect to be serviced ASAP when I got 6 other tables to serve.

Sometimes people talk too loudly on their cell phones. You can't always switch tables easily at a restaurant. Some jurisdictions now charge people with disorderly conduct for this behaviour, and also filming people with a cell phone is sometimes considered harassment in some jurisdictions.

As evidenced by his loud talking as he records his own voice for youtube. He's not talking to her, he's taunting her loudly for the sheer egotistical pleasure of shaming her. Table turned on him. Without the full understanding of the situation, it's hard to judge. But if I'm in a restaurant eating and someone's on the phone (and it's a quiet conversation I'm not getting ear blasted with, I'm ok with it) But those people that talk on their phones loud as hell while I'm trying to have a normal descent conversation with the person with me, that pisses me off. If you want to have a "private" conversation with someone on a phone, then go some where private and not in a "public" place.

It has been years since I've used a cell phone. That said, I think people should have the right to use them in restaurants and stuff. Provided they do so at a reasonable volume, etc. The way this guy is taunting this woman in this video it is clear what probably happened. Once he knew it was bothering her he probably went out of his way to intensify the reaction. Both of them need to grow up... but especially him.

When did it become improper to have a conversation with someone during dinner or lunch? Being LOUD is considered rude, but simply talking to someone has always been common everywhere I've gone out to eat. What difference should it make to anyone if a person is talking to someone sitting across from them at the table or talking to someone on the phone? Is it simply rude of that person because YOU can't eavesdrop on the entire conversation? BTW, the comparison to a movie is ridiculous.
