For those who think that I did not come up with all these variations using this method with substances such as Rust, Jute, Chaga, Yucca, Hemp, Dogbane, etc; YOU are more than welcome to search the internet over and compare dates for yourself. Unlike some on KZbin, MY work using this method is original and speaks for itself. History of the Fire Roll and Evolution Video kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6fOpYR7e6Z2otE The FIRST Hemp Twine Fire Roll on KZbin or the internet can be seen here kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmKuoGSEpLyLeac In this video I describe how I process Hemp twine to use with the Rudiger Roll friction fire method. Using Hemp, Jute or Sisal twine with this technique are some of my original earlier ideas. The True History and Evolution of the Fire Roll video can be seen here kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6fOpYR7e6Z2otE For a playlist of other plant fibers that I personally came up with to use with this method click here kzbin.info/aero/PLPUSw5w2ZpSax0D2cEDbmq8le400JmF6H For a playlist of Natural Ash Substitutes that I personally discovered click here kzbin.info/aero/PLPUSw5w2ZpSbwF9ZYN5JLCgUx1JS_H1fX For a playlist of Common Chemical Ash Substitutes that I personally discovered click here kzbin.info/aero/PLPUSw5w2ZpSZXpNLSv3j_qr13Zalqm_6u

Have you used the " paper like , light , inner bark of the cottonwood tree " to replace cotton , fibers , etc ? I am going to try dried yuuca leaf fiber, then cedar bark --' and thinking about rabbit poo to replace ashes. Hoping for a " combo of natural materials " in W. Colo.
@boggycreekbeast Жыл бұрын
Yes, I've used cottonwood fiber. As well as slippery elm and hickory. Cedar is not a good one so I wouldn't bother. Ive already used Yucca fiber and it works well. Yucca was one of the first few plants I discovered to use with the Rudiger Roll. Dogbane and Nettle are some of the best. I have a play list of plant fibers that I personally discovered that can be used with this method. Not sure I can copy and paste the link with my phone. Look above under the pinned comment above and you will find the Playlist of plant fibers

This method is ridiculously simple. My youngest daughter was performing this method when she was 11-12yo. Give it a try. Seriously, its easy. Here I am making an ember in under 1 second using this method kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGmbp2Nmpc-VjM0

Interesting technique. What does the wood ash do??
@boggycreekbeast3 жыл бұрын
Increases friction between the fibers as it rolls and also aids in traction.
