Beethoven’s opus of 32 Piano Sonatas, known as “the New Testament of piano music”, is a landmark in piano literature. Spanning Beethoven’s entire life, the sonatas reflect his whole development as a human being and a musician, moving from one century into the next, from one epoch in music in to another. With the sonatas “Pathétique”, “Moonlight”, “Waldstein”, “Appassionata”, “Hammerklavier” and the final sonata, op.111, the cycle contains some of the most known piano pieces of all time. Now, for the first time in its history the complete cycle was performed at the Salzburg Festival. La sonata op. 111 l' ho ascoltata dal vivo al teatro Ghione in Roma, eseguita da Gyorgy Sandor, autore anche di un libro" Come si suona il pianoforte" ed. BUR Rizzoli. Buchbinder conosce a memoria i 3 libri delle 32 sonate per pianoforte di Beethoven di cui la Hammerclavier di 70pag. Voglio dire che è un grande pianista.

Rudolf Buchbinder est le plus parfait pianiste au monde ! Je l'admire beaucoup ! Par contre, je suis totalement incompatible avec cette sonate (No 32 C Minor opus 111). Probablement, au moment de sa composition, Beethoven avait des problème personnels. Rachmaninov, Shostakovitch, Wagner, et plusieurs autres, sans compter les « compositeurs » modernes de musique classique, je suis incapable d'écouter leurs compositions. C'est personnel...
