It’s rarely I get invested in a love story, but the authentic portrayal of both characters won me over. It has comedy, it has tragedy, it has yearning, it has themes of breaking away from your old bonds to pursue love, it has big furry “monsters” getting to love and be loved rather than treated as some sob story, and it has Brennan Lee Mulligan. Fantastic all around

Brennan's masterful execution of Hob expressing his love to Rue makes up for all the cliff hangers and dramatic tension Oliver and Brennan did (but I can't lie to myself, I loved every second of their interactions) What a great series, honestly. Everyone did so well in this that I'm astonished that it's not scripted. And thank you, Bimbly, for being the coolest person and putting out these edits. Sense and Sensibility is one of my favorite movies of all time. Col. Brandon is one of my favorite characters of all time. So the notion that Brennan would be playing a Col. Brandon quiet, content to pine for their beloved, character had me grinning just from a synopsis. Actually *watching* the payoff however… oh, my word, I cried. So so much. And that’s not even going to Oscar, who was also fantastic do not get me wrong… but the speech. The speech… everyone’s already said it, but the combination of kicky feet and ugly crying is real! So, so freaking happy these too had a happy ending!

I really didn’t like how things ended with Wuvy. She picked a fight with Hobb, sabotaged Rue’s relationship with Hob, brought disrespect to (she brought it on herself and thus on Rue), and she betrayed Rue’s trust. My issue isn’t that she did what she did, it’s that she never had answer for what she did. Rue just forgave her and acted like nothing happened. What’s almost as bad is she never took her shot. She never told Rue how she really felt about them.
