It's an 80's 911. Oversteering everywhere is common trait and has to be adopted in to your driving style if you really want to give it the beans . All older 911's feel the same in that the front can feel quite vague and light and you just have to trust it will grip. Once you get over that, they are the greatest driving machines ever.

@@Lazerus2008 you hit the nail on the head. I had a 1988 911 Carrera Targa and it's true. Once you knew the cars characteristics, I think one would be hard pressed to name a better car providing a better driving experience. This driver looks like he is fighting the car, but in reality the car is giving him all the information he needs to correctly drive it. Hard to explain, but when my driving got spirited on twisty country back roads, I could feel the road through the steering wheel. Every bump, curve, pebble, you name it. And the car just gave me the confidence I wasn't going to eat it. Mine was just a regular 911 3.2 G50 short throw, hardly anything like this RUF, but his driving looks so familiar to me like when I would get on mine.

@@MmpM123YT inb4 I know this is 2 year old comment but.. That's half the truth. No, drifting is NOT faster than grip unless it is classic 4 wheel drifting where countersteering is kept to absolute minimum. If this video WAS the record lap itself, I am sure he could have gained so much valuable time in places where he decided to go full sideways and smoke the tires, especially slow ones like T13, Adenauer Forst, Wehrseifen, and Ex Mühle. Grip might seem slow and boring but it gives so much more exit speed; its just facts. In other fast corners, he is just frantically trying to keep the car as straight as possible.

Old video of a great car. RUF is to Porsche as Cobra is to Ford or AMG to Mercedes. Saw this for the first time at a Porsche Club event and one of the two RUF brothers was there narrating his brother's wild drive. At conclusion, there were open questions. The first was one of the richer guys who just asked how much and some big price was mentioned along with waiting times. The second question was why he let his brother drive without a helmet. He responded "Well, he's just the marketing guy!". I seem to recall about 9 deposit checks were written that day. And, yes, current 918s and 919s go faster and smoother but - God awmighty - there's NOTHING more exciting than seeing that CTR slide sideways into the turns!

Sorry but Ruf was founded by Alois Ruf and his son, Alois Ruf Jr. He had no brother. Also, the car was driven by Stefan Roser who is definitely not a marketing guy...

All I know (as did my friend attending the event) was Alois Jr was the speaker/presenter and he referred to his brother. The factory test driver was not his brother, but loved to jump in and blast through the old Ring. If my memory is faulty or Alois was reimagining his childhood, I stand corrected. However, you perhaps did not "get" the thrust of this RUF vignette written a year plus ago without comments. It was a Porsche lover talking fondly about one of RUFs greater variations of one of their cars. You were the guy in my fifth grade class who reminded the teacher he'd forgotten to give out the homework assignment aintcha? :-)

It's ok cause the chassis is same from the first long wheel base 911/901 to 911/993. Many tuner converting to the newer or back to to the older model. Perfect example is the singer design 911. They converted back a 964 to 901 wide body.I mean 901 RSR body. The difference between the 930 and 964 is very slightly. 964 rather more about the tech like abs, air bag, 4 wheel drive.

I see a lot of comments regarding the steering. It takes a lot of practice to take these curves. The tail likes to drift out because the engine makes the car a sling shot. Once mastered the car can corner like this. Consider the 911 lost by 1 second in a race with a Veyron. He lost it in one turn and that was it. I like Bugatti but I can afford a Porcshe, and I can suffer the indignation.
