When critisized about his 'drifting' driving style being slower for lap times, Stefan Roser was quoted as replying with: 'Sometimes, when I am with my woman, we are not trying to make babies' Legend

Probably the best driving i've ever seen taking everything into consideration. The 911 is a freak of a car in its most basic form with its engine situated behind the rear axle. The 930 turbo was scary enough but RUF decided to make a deal with satan to create a 469bhp death dealing mechanical monster! This is balls of steel driving, best i've seen...incredible stuff! Efficient driving comment made me laugh :)

In 1987 the Ruf CTR Yellowbird.became the fastest car in the world, besting both the Porsche 959 and Ferrari F40. Ruf test driver Stefan Roser takes it around the Nürburgring Nordschleife in just eight minutes and five seconds. Right foot steering at its best as he takes every bend sideways, all the while dodging traffic at huge speeds.

Around the 12 minute mark is when the tires said "the hell with this! I'm outta here!" Serious guts driving like that especially after the tires were overheated or just plane worn out. It was like he was wrestling the car as much as he was the track.

A car that rewards you with either the most amazing and involving driving experience, testing everything you got. Or a car that punishes you with certain death for the tiniest mistake. A widow-maker. But in a good way: it's not a toy for boys like a cayman or 911 today - drive this one fast, and the first mistake will (on the ring at least) cost you the car. Or worse. It's literally a man and car dancing on a knifes edge.

Fantastic video! The best nurburgring video on youtube. I really got a query: why this car handles this amazing way? All modern porsche car are rear-engineed and powerful
@daddyeagen7 жыл бұрын
George Ko no traction control, no stability control, no electronic braking control, this car was lightweight with huge power. The nurburgring isn't smooth everywhere and there is very little weight on the front with no engine, so it changes direction quickly, sometimes too quickly! With this rear engine rear drive layout oversteer is the order of the day

What would I give to see Walter Rohrl doing this... The 930t had a deserved reputation for being evil - no surprise when you add turbo lag to the already pendulous handling. Not entirely sure you could keep the back end in check much more than this ( at least the first lap ). Watch some historic 911 racing onboards & you'll get an idea of how sideways they are almost all the time. He's also driving it much like a rally car, let's not forget 80s tyres weren't stellar. Scooter at 6:45 . Wonder if it's someone going to work :p
