What's crazy is that someone did this on the grooved tyres version and got a 4:44 with the right tune settings. The 2001-2004 cars are just unhinged monsters and really it weirds me out that people genuinely still doubt these vehicles. Ralf Schumacher drove his 2003 Williams around recently with new pirelli mediums fitted. And despite the fact the laps were show laps where he wasn't really pushing that hard, the car was undertuned, the engine lowered to 850 hp instead of the race 950, underreved to a lower RPM, etc, Ralf still put in a lap that was only 4 seconds behind pole position of the modern cars... Yeah...I think the older cars would definitely put up an insane fight if they were fitted proper slicks and slight adjustments were made to their design. Those cars were just outrageously agile.

I miss my PSP, I used to play with the F2007 in the Gran Turismo, right at the Nurburgring, and I configured the PSP as if the triggers were the paddle shifters similar to the F1 steering wheel, it was totally cardiac driving it at high speeds trying not to crash after so many elevation changes on the track. What a great simulation!!

It shocks me that they basically did do this in real life a few decades ago. I understand the cars were slower but still

DANGIT!! That got me! The whole time I was amazed at how much real life looks exactly like assetto corsa and how committed that lap was (big yikes at metzgesfeld). Think I'll go spend some time outside...
